Books
I want to talk about books. I should be studying, but mom annoyed me by talking about even more things I should do, like getting a job this summer -.- So let´s talk about books. I´ll try to hide spoilers under extra tags, but I´m not sure how well that works on Lj or if it works at all, so to be on the safe side just assume that there are spoilers EVERYWHERE. Lurking behind corners. Waiting to attack you at night. With horrible sharp and blood-dripping teeth and gleaming yellow eyes...
The Dark Volume, by G.W. Dahlquist
( mild general spoilers )
Heaven´s Net is Wide, by Lian Hearn
( No spoilers if you know the other Otori books )
The Broken Kingdoms, by N.K. Jemisin
The Painted Man, by Peter V. Brett
ETA: The Desert Spear, by Peter V. Brett
( No spoilers (I think) )
Mmmm, tasty fantasy books :)
In December I read "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"; I´d like to write about that, too, because it was interesting and new in several ways, but first I want to look at other reviews. I should probably do it soon, before I forget everything, because I don´t want to reread it. I also don´t know yet if I want to read the sequels at all. Only if the ending is happy.
Books!, and now back to studying, hopefully.
