I don't follow hockey at all, but my wife similarly followed hockey fandom and games, so I feel like I've been in the fandom too! I've actually just started watching SGA for the first time ever, and I'm enjoying it so much. It's a really fun, well-constructed sci-fi show, and I can see why it inspired such fannish engagement.
