Hades fic: The Garden of Endless Summer

I finally posted a Hades fic!

The Garden of Endless Summer

Summary: Near Korinna's village, there lives a dryad.
(Or: there were two chairs in the garden!!)

It started out as a not-fic/brainstorming so the style is a bit different than my usual. Not really sure how to describe it, but I don't dislike it. I probably would have kept procrastinating on editing this for another month, but this morning in the shower I got an idea for a sequel and I thought that if I post this maybe I will get some encouragement, that would be nice.

For a line I ended up not using I looked up ancient glassmaking and found out that the first greenhouses we know about were used by the Romans, but I headcanon that in this 'verse they figured out how to make them earlier to survive the endless winter.

I mean, maybe? I have only made it past Elysium twice and to Hades once XD I guess there will be more to learn.

There is always more to learn ^^ Fortunately Hades has very recognizable attack patterns. By now I find it easier to fight Hades than Asterius.

I honestly spent most of my time fighting Asterius and Theseus running around, hoping to get some damage in from distance and slowly chipping away with hangover. They are hard for me atm. Hades did have the nicety of clearly telegraphing the safe zone so i could attack from there.

That's not a bad strategy imo, especially if you managed to collect enough poms so that your hangover does actual damage. Ideally supplement with some nice cast damage, or maybe a call, because the longer the fight takes the higher the odds that they will hit you with some big attacks.

I thought the bigger attacks just came out when you whittle down health... I just try to put on hangover, have a dodge that does damage... I think the two times I beat them I had blade circle from Ares. He certainly packs a punch. So far I am usually killing Asterius first, no idea how do Theseus first, I died whenever I tried.

I too like to kill Asterius first, Theseus is more predictable. Ares' blade circles are fun, especially with Hunting Blades :)

That's the combo with Artemis, right? I will try to aim for that in a build in the future.

Best of luck! It's extra rough doing anything creative right now - any writing people can get done under The Circumstances is impressive in my eyes!

Yes! It is very helpful. Combined with e.g. Engulfing Vortex, maybe even Vicious Cycle from Ares if you are lucky, and maybe Pressure Points from Artemis, and especially on a weapon that can make your casts stronger like Poseidon, Achilles, or Eris Aspect, you can do a lot of damage.
What are your favorite weapons?

I like the spear best! I find the sword and the shield stylish but am not quiet as good with them. I am however pretty ok with the bow? Fists and Gunrail are the ones I struggle with most.

The spear was my first favorite too :) Fists and rail and sword took me the longest to get used to. I got my first clears with the shield (with 80% damage reduction from god mode) and I have been playing with the shield a lot recently, I especially like it when I get Charged Shot for the extra ranged attack while blocking.

Ohhh, that's a good idea! I do like the shield because blocking and ramming are nice and the shield throw is great.

Any sword is inherently cool, but close range opens up so many ways to get damaged, sadly.
