Lost Girl season 3
(Yes, wrong icon, but I don't want to search for one right now and Parker would fit right in. She'd have a lot of fun. How do I not have an icon of Aeryn?)
For some reason I'm very sleepy today, I felt terrible at noon and napped for two hours after lunch. LB also felt very tired, so maybe it's a weather thing? I didn't use to believe in that until experience seemed to suggest otherwise.
I finished season 3 of Lost Girl, and I enjoyed it a lot.
3x01, Caged Fae, made me apprehensive: torture, including forced pregnancy, and Bo killing random people? But Bo/Lauren was a nice thing that I hadn't expected so soon.
I enjoyed the romance storyline this season, even with the "love triangle". Bo is in love with Lauren, she still trusts Dyson and probably loves him but not like that right now. Lauren is in love with Bo, she's afraid Dyson is her competition but she's mature about it. Dyson is in love with Bo, but he knows that she's with Lauren right now, respects it, and doesn't try to interfere. I liked how Bo and Lauren negotiated Bo's need to feed from others. It's only human for Lauren to not be able to help it and be a bit jealous sometimes. It's also very believable for her to be tired of Fae complications, and even though she loves Bo and wants the best for her and wants her to survive the Dawning at all costs, putting Bo's needs first all the time has to be exhausting. And she's still trying to heal from years of captivity. I was surprised when it happened, but actually Lauren wanting a break from the Fae world makes perfect sense, especially after she was attacked. Still, Bo and Lauren were cute together while it lasted. I also loved Lauren and Dyson's talked after the break-up.
The Dawning storyline was a bit weird - I don't think I quite got what the point was. The ceremony itself was very strange, we were only told not shown how Bo changed, not even Dyson's sacrifice had any lasting consequences right then. Set-up for something later, quite possibly, but this season it seemed like little pay-off.
When I said I wanted more Hale I didn't mean "promote him and then have him almost not appear at all" :(
We got Tamsin instead. I liked her, but did it have to be either or? Also this season I noticed that there were a lot of blond women in various roles and few PoC. Strange for a show who did so well in that aspect before.
Btw, this season had canon tentacle sex. Wow. They still take myths from everywhere with little to no context, but several episode plots were quite nice, including poor Kenzi being kidnapped and the evil cat.
This time they managed a properly dramatic season finale, yay! Even though it was a lot of threads at once.
Hale must have arranged things with Vex in advance, just in case, and it obviously paid off, but what did he promise him? And what is he planning to do with the Morrigan? He's not even the acting Ash anymore. What will that do to the planned treaty? It would probably be void anyway, after the Morrigan's plot - I still haven't figured out the role of the elders...
Kenzi is on the run and wants to take the offer to become a Fae from a creepy shaman, that can only go wrong.
Trick is going to Scotland with Stella - does that mean he won't be in the next season? What about Bo? I don't think he got confirmation that either she or Dyson are alright, so his willingness to leave is a bit odd.
Lauren betrayed Isaac, of course she did, but what will she do now? All the (Light) Fae think she was behind the attack on Dyson.
Tamsin decided not to kill Bo, you go girl. I wonder what Tamsin sees in Bo that makes her be so impressed by her? Tamsin is centuries old. I'm almost certain it has to be something she gets with Fae senses. So Tamsin is dying, and she decided to try and kill the guy she works for - that won't have a happy ending... At least I'm pretty sure she and Dyson can survive a crash like that, although they're probably heavily injured. (Lauren?)
Btw, my theory why the shaman's serum didn't work on Bo is because she thought Lauren had betrayed her and didn't love her anymore.
Aife is back! Interesting. Now that she can feed again she might even get her mind back. And she honestly seems to love her daughter - was that what Trick wrote? She'll be a valuable source of information on Bo's father. It seems like every season we meet one more family member - mother, grandfather, father...
As for Bo, I'm very curious where she ended up! I also hope we'll see more of how the Dawning changed her, or at least her abilities. She almost never uses her Chi-sucking in a fight if she can help it, even when it would make sense (e.g. when Tamsin took out the guards it made her tired, it would have made Bo stronger), she must still have hang-ups about that, or possibly simply not think of it?
Next season starts in November, that's not so far away :)
