Did not see any actual ghosts

I usually don't really celebrate Halloween, and I don't like the trend coming from the US to treat it like an anything-goes costume party (that's what Fasching/carnival is for) instead of an event for scary costumes in particular. So I had no plans for Tuesday until Monday when I got an invite to a party, and because several people were going that I hadn't seen in a while I agreed to go. So then of course I needed a costume, something simple and cheap but Halloween-appropriate. Fortunately I did come up with an idea: something TAZ:Balance-themed, since that's been on my mind. Aaand then I realized that the whole costume is a technically a spoiler for the entire plot, oops ^^ So I hoped that the people I was hoping to get to listen to TAZ wouldn't think about the details and also not ask for the name, because imo TAZ is much better without being spoiled beforehand. I think LK is interested, so it worked :)

I went as Barry Bluejeans. Very Halloween-appropriate, he's literally undead and a reaper for the Raven Queen, the goddess of death. Not that that was obvious from the costume… I did have a symbol of the Raven Queen, at least. And an IPRE logo, and of course a red jacket and blue jeans. It's not a ton of effort or high quality or anything, but it's the first time I put together or wore a costume since I went to a Harry Potter movie evening with friends as Sybil Trelawney and that was over five years ago, and for the short time frame I had I'm quite happy with what I managed to put together. The picture is terrible, but in my defense it was 3am, we only have one mirror propped up in the bathroom, and I'm too lazy to crop it. Okay that last one is not much of a defense.

The decorations in the flat were amazing btw, they had a huge plastic spider in a terrarium and spider webs everywhere and fake blood on the mirrors etc. etc. There were several zombies, one devil, and a couple of other costumes (including one guy who was a character from Braveheart, but I forgave him because he brought an actual sword.) And we played Cards Against Humanity, which is clearly well suited for Halloween. There was some dancing too, it's been a while. And food and drinks (I like being slightly drunk every once in a while because I hug people) and meeting friends and all in all it was the most fun I had on Halloween in many years.

Yeah, I'm on the same page with you regarding Halloween, but that still sounds like a party I would have liked to go to, as well. *g*
