schneefink | Farscape: Wow, it gets even crazier! (and this is literally only the beginning)

I spent half my day today watching Farscape and I ~~don't~~ hardly regret it at all.

Remember the doppelganger-bugs and time flashes? Turns out that was just the warm-up. Not only did Aeryn turn into a blue monster bug already (five seasons of SGA weirdness surpassed in ten episodes of Farscape, and there is John Sheppard&Aeryn Sun bonding over being turned into bugs fic out there, yes?), the spaceship got pregnant. The living spaceship. Is pregnant. (Btw, DRDs can be scary.) I am so glad I was unspoiled for this. Okay technically I think I read a vague reference to this once?, but I thought it was just a crazy crackfic. Moya got pregnant. And then, to make it perfect, Crichton went down on his knees and begged her not to kill them, putting the baby first. I love this show.
There was also a crazy dark sorcerer, a gladiator-style fight to the death, and Zhaan being badass in "That Old Black Magic", a very well done minor character in "PK Tech Girl", everyone at each other's throat in "DNA Mad Scientist" (the episode titles are very expressive, hehe), mindcontrol and a worm in Crichton's stomach in "Thank God It's Friday. Again", and D'Argo backstory in "They've Got a Secret", and Moya got pregnant. Sorry, still not over that. Will she give birth to a beautiful baby Leviathan in a moving ceremony, the crew will squabble endlessly about a fitting name and play proud godparents but nobody admits it openly, and the baby spaceship will follow its mother like a baby whale (baby spaceship whale!) until it's finally old enough to find its own pilot and its own crew *sniffles* - it will be so touching. I don't care what happens in the show, this is how it happens in my head. Well, except if canon is even more awesome (and probably crazier), which at this point I almost believe it could be.
I'm curious what counts as crack in this fandom. It must be difficult to surpass canon.
And rumors say season two is even better. Why didn't I watch this show before? *flails madly*

Me too! I just watched "Till the Blood Runs Clear": undercover as bounty hunters, forced to hurt partner, it's like a bingo card. I loved the mechanic, and Zhaan has sun orgasms *g*

I don't know, I don't dare to look for fics yet because I want as few spoilers as possible. But if I find it I'll definitely tell you.

I wanted the DRDs to form a swarm and attack that bastard Durka when he wanted to kill Moya's baby! But he must have disabled them. Poor Moya.

I now want to ask for such fic but I don't know if it is suited for the SGA Genre or Story finder comm. I'm thinking Genre but I'm not sure... Thank you in advance for telling me if you ever find one. :)

Who is Durka again? I'm bad with names...

Durka is a bad guy from the episode "Durka Returns", a Peacekeeper commander thought dead who once tortured Rygel.

Yes, but in the second half I was too worried for the baby to fully enjoy it. I love how they handled Moya's pregnancy so far.

Yes! And Moya was willing to sacrifice her baby to save her crew, but everyone else (except Pilot) was horrified and said no way, and later when they're all happy and eating together and Pilot announces that the baby's well and John says "we're having a baby?" and they do start arguing about names! and omg I love them all so much I cannot even.

Oh boy. I really need to start rewatching it again....

Farscape was ahead of its time. Just an amazing vision with crisp writing, directing, and an awesome diverse crew. What impressed me the most was how they took every cliched sci-fi plot out there and turned it on it's head to unexpected results. You'll see more examples of that as the seasons go along.
