Why do we only get snow on the weekends atm

I went running today, even though it was very cold and it took twenty minutes for my hands to stop freezing because I forgot gloves, and I almost fell twice because even though I took a different route than normal some places were still icy. But I still went, not for very long but it counts. The only reasons why I didn't hate every minute were because a) the feeling of spite and accomplishment, and b) the sun. When I'm out in full sunshine for the first time in a while I always feel very plant-like.

On Friday after work I went to LB's apartment to finally watch Prince of Egypt, which we'd been talking about for a while now. "Deliver Us" is such a good song&scene, goosebumps.
Today he came to our place for dinner and to watch Glass Onion. It was fun, and I was glad that I managed to avoid spoilers enough to still be surprised a few times. It was the first movie I saw that was set during COVID times and I really liked how that was shown especially in the beginning. Some of my favorite parts were

everyone arriving with different kinds of masks, Blanc immediately solving the planned murder mystery, and his long speech at the end in which during the speech which was only meant to stall he realizes what was actually going on and is mad about it because of the stupidity. I also liked him emphasizing that he is not Batman and at the end saying he could only uncover the truth but not deliver consequences - but then he did encourage Helen to ensure consequences on her own. (Sadly I could not forget the likely future that Helen will almost definitely go to jail for it.)

Afterwards we got LB to watch the Potato Wars series xD He's had to put up with me talking about Minecraft for months now so it was high time to show him what got me into it. First I told him that the first one isn't that long and then he enjoyed it enough that he didn't complain at all when the playlist continued, success.

It was fun, we should do movie evenings like that more often. Unfortunately LB soon won't be here for a few months, we'll have to pick it up again afterwards.

feelings of spite and accomplishment can be quite motivating. I'm vaguely jealous of your snow (though I wouldn't have been out in it, it's quite pretty - but ours last night didn't stick)

hope there's more sun, so you can continue to feel plant-like

I think the longest we had snow this year was three days or so, so still not very much. I'm very curious if we'll get more in February.
More sun, specifically at times I'm free to go outside, would be very nice :)

Yes! This was the first time I watched the movie but I've listened to several songs before multiple times.

Honestly this is one reason I love love love living in Colorado - winters get snow but also a lot of sun, so running midday is really nice and makes me feel good, I love being in the sun. I think it would be very hard to live far north where the winter days are very short. I did fall today, stupid ice, but that was the first time this winter. Good for you for running!

I loved that. I loved how easily the movie used covid to tell us exactly what kind of people all of them were.

That was brilliant! The way he just pulls the rug out from Miles and totally spoils the planned weekend.

With the benefit of hindsight I love the way Blanc antagonized Miles and was condescending about the childish puzzles even more :)

I LOVED Glass Onion! And oh man, the masks -- the mask that each character had on in that scene immediately told you soooo much about who they were. It was so good.

It was excellent. And the mysterious spray which meant that no-one wore a mask from then on was convenient and was not questioned further for Doylist reasons but has fun implications if you overthink it ^^

Yes! That's such a good way to express the "I don't especially want to exercise but I want to HAVE EXERCISED, so much that I'm actually going to exercise" feeling. And the sun in winter is so nice.

I went running again today and like half an hour before I finally managed to make myself go outside stupid clouds appeared >.< But still, now I have exercised, which is the reward for actually exercising :)

Glass Onion was so much fun! Though I live in constant denial about how that likely continued for Helen. The random guy walking around with a "corona" beer in hand at all times was the cherry on top for all the COVID-related comments the movie made XD

Always great when people you share your fandoms with find the canon interesting! Hope you get to have many fun movie nights in the future <3

I only found out about what beer that guy was drinking via Tumblr afterwards, that made his appearances much funnier in hindsight xD

We managed to have another movie night (well, afternoon) already :) We watched Coco, which I enjoyed. Very colorful.

I'd heard so many people talk about the "beer named corona" before watching this movie, so the second I saw a beer bottle in any character's hand I was primed to try and find that reference - can't claim any keen observation skills on this, just an extreme exposure to memes XD

Coco is such a beautiful movie! I really enjoy its music too, especially "La Llorona" <3
