schneefink | Grumpf

I'm sick and very grumpy about it. I tried telling myself I "just" had a very bad cold for the last three days and then today I woke up and had to admit that no actually I'm sick. And it sucks. I had to cancel my plans for a three-day mini-vacation with friends for New Year's >.< I'm just glad I decided to do that on Saturday so I didn't have to pay a cancellation fee.
Then we thought maybe LB could come over for a visit tomorrow evening (it's unlikely that I'll infect him because he's also been sick) but if I feel tomorrow like I do today then I don't think I'll even be up for that. We might just watch a movie together while on call or something.
At least I went to the doctor so I'm taking sick days instead of vacation days but it still sucks so much. I'd taken two weeks off (with only five vacation days because of the holidays) and I had so many plans for what I wanted to do - not even all very exciting stuff, just things like going for long walks (the weather is so nice currently!) and reading and commenting and writing, and some much-needed tidying up (I couldn't even find my thermometer today), and right now I don't have the energy or brainpower for anything. Uuugh.
Fortunately LB has been very good with his sibling duties and let me whine at him frequently. And I didn't have to cook the first few days because I had so many leftovers from Christmas. So really on the one hand I'm aware that it could be a lot worse; on the other hand I can feel grumpy if I want to so there. I don't want to whine at too many people IRL though because I'm aware it might be a bit exaggerated so I'm doing it here because I can. (I tried to find a good German translation for "grumpy" in this context and LB eventually suggested just going with the onomatopoeic "grumpf.")
Fingers crossed I'll at least feel better when the new year starts, that would be nice.
