Salzburg was not very cold, but the next few days...

I had a wonderful weekend with my friend S. in Salzburg. We talked about equal amounts in Russian, English, and German, and it was a lot of fun! Salzburg is a small but beautiful city. We had great weather and most of the Christmas markets were already open. S. was delighted that we could see real mountains, not only hills! :)
We stayed with one of my aunts, which was very convenient, even though the way she repeatedly badmouths my parents while talking about the importance of family is very aggravating and I'm glad we didn't spend much time with her.

Of course after a weekend wonderfully free of studying and OTW work - I didn't even miss the internet very much, progress? - everything has to be done at once, but it'll be fine.

Or maybe I just don't feel very anxious about it because after I made several phone calls LB is on his way to pick up a copy of Cold Days right now! Apparently it's been out in one bookstore in Vienna since Thursday? I'm so excited! I hope he reads it quickly. It'll be a long day of lectures tomorrow and it'll feel even longer knowing what I could be reading instead.

Oh, Salzburg is lovely, particularly this time of year. My parents visit every year but I haven't been in a while. Nothing puts me in the Christmas spirit as a visit to the Christmas Market there.... is there already snow on the mountains? We had a lot end of October, but it's all gone now, only the tops are dusted...

Salzburg has a fantastic Christmas market, I didn't know that before! Unfortunately the one in the castle wasn't open yet. The snow we got a few weeks ago is already gone again, unfortunately.

I thought Cold Days didn't come out until tomorrow? Either way, you must tell how it is when you read.

I didn't know you spoke Russian!

Christmas markets are the best.

I thought so too! If anything I'd expected it to only be available here later, so I'm very happily surprised. I'll definitely post a review when I'm finished. My brother is reading it first, I hope it doesn't take him too long.

I started learning Russian when I was ten, but I'm much more comfortable in English. More practice, among other things.

They are! I'm looking forward to visiting all the ones in Vienna :)
