I should spend more time in the sun probably

I've had a few spectacularly unproductive days. Today, for example, I spent almost the entire day reading ASoIaF fic – I only ever read the first book and didn't like it much, and I never watched the series and don't intend to, but there's some good fic. And by "some" I mean "quite a lot," and a lot of it very long, which is dangerous for people with poor self-control like me.
(I'm currently working on my D&D character for our next campaign. It's wish-fulfilment, so the first thing I put under "strengths" was "self-discipline.")
I did manage to eat something and do a little bit more than nothing, which is, well, better than nothing. Generally it feels like it's getting worse again -.- Tomorrow I'm at work again, which usually helps. (No classes last week and this one, which is never good for my productivity.)

Apart from this, Easter was great! We painted beautiful eggs (my favorites of the ones I painted were the bouquet of daffodils and the Very Hungry Caterpillar eating cherries, an apple, and a pineapple), and then on Sunday we had a great family breakfast, then an outing in a beautiful garden/park, and then more good food. Not religious at all for me this year (I also still have leftovers from the two (!) cakes we had at the D&D session on Good Friday) but I didn't miss it. The spring weather is beautiful.

I have a pretty similar history with ASoIaF (only I watched the first episode of GoT). I read a bunch a couple years ago (mostly canon divergence, which is very popular lol). Hmm, should I try again...

There's a lot of canon-divergence AU, which is great because I love those. Even when I don't know canon, it turns out ^^ Maybe I'll get around to making a rec list.
I have to remind myself that despite the fact that I like many fics a lot, I'm still pretty sure I wouldn't like the books. (Though maybe when they're finished...)

Yes! Soon it's time for dresses and sandals and most importantly ice cream again :) Temperature-wise it's typical April weather but at least it's usually nice outside.

Sometimes the fic just pulls you in and its hard to escape! Those eggs sound so gorgeous! Painting eggs isn't really a tradition here, but it should be because that sounds wonderful.

Yes exactly!
I love egg-painting for Easter. The watercolors mean that fingers get very colorful while eating, but it's worth it.

I read the first book up until page 500 and never took it up again. I would have stopped after reading the first chapter, but it was the only book I had with me at that time. *g*

I do watch the show, even though it took me a while to get into it. At first I only gave it a try because colleagues and friends kept asking. By now I actually like it, am even up to date on the current season.

What are you reading? I think I've only read two fanfics so far, mostly because I don't really like most characters.

I tried the first book many years ago and then didn't read the others because I was only interested in maybe a third of the PoVs, and later I learned about how much brutality and torture porn there is later in the series (both book and TV) and decided not to try them. But maybe I will later if the ending is satisfying.

Hopefully I'll get around to making a rec list. I've read and enjoyed several fics by EmynIthilien and janie_tangerine.
