Fig recipe
Sep. 30th, 2013 09:57 pmMy aunt E. is visiting and she and I went to the zoo today. It was a lot of fun: the (baby) animals are adorable, especially the elephant and the penguins. Then we met with my mom and LB at Naschmarkt to eat and in the evening I made dessert. All in all a good day. But tiring, especially because I know that I have a full schedule this week so I feel tired already in anticipation. The few pictures I remembered to make (many animals were too cute to remember the camera) will have to wait for another time.
But because I wanted to post more regularly, have my favorite fig recipe, and one of my family's favorite desserts:
- one fig per person
- cut cross-wise into a fresh fig from above, almost to the bottom
- cut walnuts into small pieces and fill them into the fig
- pour sweet liqueur over it (I use Cointreau, the original recipe used something else I can't remember)
- put into the fridge for a few hours, then take out about twenty minutes before eating (approximately)
- put whipped cream on top
- Enjoy.
