schneefink: Lin Chen (NiF Lin Chen)
I saw a prompt and thought "ooh this could make for good angst" and wrote this Nirvana in Fire fic:

Cut Off
gen, 2k, Lin Chen & MCS/LS
Summary: Lin Chen refuses to watch his friend die.
Additional Tags: Wingfic, fix-it of sorts, self-harm (detailed content notes at the end)

Not a very creative titles but it fits on more than one level and I gave up. I suspect my association of wingfic with angst comes from SGA fandom, which had several examples - of non-angsty wingfic too, to be fair. But angst just fits NiF so well.
schneefink: River walking among trees, from "Safe" (Default)
I wrote three drabbles for [community profile] fandomtrees :

Providing Entertainment, The Magnus Archives, for [archiveofourown.org profile] badficbilly
Summary: "Do you think Elias can see me?" Gerry asked one day.
Featuring ghost!Gerry because as soon as I saw the prompt for Gerry haunting Jon I knew I wanted to write something.

Escaping the Night, Hades, for [personal profile] yhlee
Summary: Dying from sunlight felt different than dying from being staked.
Featuring vampire!Zagreus because I could not resist that prompt.

Last Kiss, Nirvana in Fire, for [personal profile] shadaras
Summary: After Lin Shu's death, Nihuang and Jingyan kiss only once more.
As soon as I thought about this threesome I could not get that image out of my head.

I also got beautiful gifts, very nice Lin Chen & Nihuang art from [personal profile] mekare and Lin Chen icons from [personal profile] kingstoken and a wonderful Castlevania fic:
Three-Body Problem by [archiveofourown.org profile] dishonestdreams
Summary: In which Sypha wants to capitalise on an opportunity, and Trevor has a headache...
Post-canon pre-OT3 fic with perfect character voices.
schneefink: Ambassador Yan staring out at enemy country (NiF ambassador Yan)
4 recs from this year's Heart Attack Exchange.

酸甜苦辣 | Joys and Sorrows by [archiveofourown.org profile] Nemainofthewater, Nirvana in Fire
23k, gen or Lin Chen/MCS, non-linear narrative
Summary: Lin Chen is a study in contradictions. A warrior and a healer. Neutral, unless it concerns Mei Changsu. Desperate to save his friend yet equally determined to respect his wishes.
Loyal.
To the end.
A series of non-linear, interconnected stories starring Lin Chen set pre, during, and post canon.
Why I love it: I aready had a lot of Lin Chen feelings, but somehow this fic managed to give me even more of them. Great character study.

shout whenever (I'll be there) by [archiveofourown.org profile] mixtapestar, Ted Lasso
26k, Keeley/Roy/Jamie
Summary: "I was wonderin' if you might… teach me?"
Roy can only stare back at him. Teach him… what, how to pull? How to fuck? Roy must be dreaming, because there's no way in hell the Jamie Tartt he knows has the bollocks or the self-awareness to ask him for such a thing. Jamie's eyes only seem to get rounder the longer Roy looks at him, as if he's growing more hopeful of a positive answer. That particular delusion snaps Roy out of it. "No. Fuck no. Why the fuck would I wanna do that?"
Why I like it: This story was both somehow exactly the kind of Keeley/Roy/Jamie fic I wanted, and the story that made me realize that unfortunately this pairing doesn't work for me because Roy is Jamie's coach. But apart from hitting a squick of mine it was very good.

Adventures in Student-Sitting by [archiveofourown.org profile] Hokuto, Naruto
12k, gen, Haku & Kisame & Itachi
Summary: When Zabuza goes missing, Haku gets help finding him from an unlikely source.
Why I like it: This was unexpectedly cute, if you can say that about a bunch of killers. Kisame is very curious about the boy Zabuza took on as a student, and Itachi is not enthused.

Destiny, Fate, and all that Crap by [archiveofourown.org profile] Rubick, Original
21.5k, f/f, fantasy, arranged marriage
Summary: Carielle never intended to marry. She’d always assumed she’d die in battle before she got to this point. Her father used to joke that she came out of the womb holding a dagger in each hand.
But her father is dead, and now Carielle is the King, and she’s not only getting married, but to a woman she’s never met.
It would be nice if her future wife could at least stand to be in the same room with her.
Why I like it: I like the characters, and the extended cast and background are well done.

Some recs from this year's Nirvana in Fire Exchange:

whatever you can still betray by [personal profile] nemainofthewater
1.4k, AU – canon divergence, angst
Summary: Mei Changsu wants to die as Lin Shu. Lin Chen has a problem with that.
OR Lin Chen would sacrifice anything to save Mei Changsu's life. Even his trust. Even his friendship.
Why I love it: This is such beautiful angst that hurts in all the best ways.

with honor by [archiveofourown.org profile] tciddaemina
20.5k, Lie Zhanying/Xiao Jingyan, pre-canon
Summary: Zhanying is fifteen when he joins the army, bringing with him nothing but a change of clothes and a few copper coins. He was never one of those sons that was destined for the service, never even dreamed of it, but when he was fourteen his father had died and his mother had been left with eleven hungry mouths to feed, and even with his first and second brothers taking the helm at his father's business and his eldest sister taking shifts at the seamstress' down the road, even with his mother working every hour of the day and Zhanying working dawn till dusk laying bricks to bring back a few extra coins, it wasn't enough.
For seven months, Zhanying watched his mother grow more thin and gaunt, watched his brothers grow more brittle, the bags beneath their eyes deepening with every long night spent in the workshop. For seven months, Zhanying watched his youngest siblings smile and laugh and try to pretend their stomachs weren't still rumbling when they went to bed, growing thinner every day, and in the eighth month Zhanying said no more and joined the army.
Why I like it: Great look at Zhanying and his relationship with Jingyan.

tho' drifted deep in parian by [archiveofourown.org profile] qwertyuiop678
2.5k, post-(fixed)-canon
Summary: Lin Chen and Nihuang bond over their longtime crushes on Lin Shu, Mei Changsu, Su Zhe - whatever you want to call him. Who, for all his many brilliances, is just a touch behind on this particular subject.
Why I like it: This is very funny, and I enjoy Lin Chen and Nihuang together.

memories to bury or live by by [archiveofourown.org profile] FaiaSakura
10.5k, female!Yujin, pre-canon
Summary: Yan Yujin spends her maiden years growing up in the shadow of the Chiyan Rebellion.
Why I like it: I really enjoyed this look at the different challenges a female Yan Yujin faces and how she deals with them.

Jingyan and the Pirates by [archiveofourown.org profile] ThimbleRig
1.1k, pre-canon
Summary: The pirates had stopped giving them water two days ago.
It was, Jingyan thought wearily, blearily, an act of foolishness...
Why I like it: Jingyan makes such a great noble damsel in distress, and MCS, jianghu chief, a great noble prince rescuer.

In the Middle by [archiveofourown.org profile] sandalwood
Vid, OT3
Summary: Nihuang knew what to do when she saw the way Mei Changsu and Xiao Jingyan looked at each other.
Why I like it: I approve of her plan :D Even more so after watching this vid.

Lauren by [archiveofourown.org profile] absternr
Vid
Summary: who's gonna hear this song through the wall and sing it right back
Why I like it: Lin Chen is the best. (His taste in men is sadly unfortunate for him.)
schneefink: green cassette tape saying "statement begins... ...statement ends", from TMA (TMA statement cassette darker)
I love crossovers, so of course one of the first things I did after finishing TMA was start thinking about crossovers with other fandoms I love, and then I came up with a NiF crossover TMA s3 spoilers )

And then I realized that I forgot to account for cultural differences, which must be huge, especially if you add different times. In ancient China spiders were symbols of luck and good fortune, for example. So what might things have looked like in wuxia ancient China?

schneefink: Ambassador Yan staring out at enemy country (NiF ambassador Yan)
Nirvana in Fire fans, go read this fic and then come talk to me about it:

Birthright, by [archiveofourown.org profile] ancient_moonshine
15k, LS/JY, AU
Summary: Consort Jing watches and waits, Xuanji plots, and Jingyan struggles under the weight of a legacy.
Why I love it: Holy shit. Like. You know the kind of stories that you read and it makes you look at canon differently and gives you so many emotions that you flail around and the sounds in your head are all jumbled because you're so full of feelings? Yeah. This is a fic like that. (Also the emotions are mostly pain and angst, because this is NiF.)

This is the Hua!Jingyan AU I never knew I wanted and it's so, so good. When I first watched NiF and got to the Hua storyline and its background, where the Hua kingdom allied with the Emperor but he broke his promise and destroyed it and that's why the surviving Hua princess plotted against Da Liang, my reaction was along the lines of "huh – their rage is completely understandable, the Emperor is even more of an evil asshole than I thought." But by that point the heroes of the tale were firmly established – MCS and Jingyan, who had not been involved back then – and so were the villains, Prince Yu supported by Qin Banruo and Xia Jiang (who was allied with Princess Xuanji.) I don't remember if we learned of the background before or after the storyline with Tong Lu and Fourth Sister, who loved her family but also the man she had seduced and who was tortured because of her, and in the end she set him free and betrayed her family, and her people, who she maybe hadn't ever known as anything other than refugees.

And here we have Consort Jing who is a Hua princess and who passed the secret on to her son. Jingyan, who has never seen the Hua kingdom, never known their culture except in secret, but is their prince and has a responsibility…
Spoilers below the cut )

To sum up, this fic is painful and wonderful and I love it.
schneefink: Nihuang with sword (NiF Nihuang with sword)
I don't read many NiF fics anymore (I still have several in my to-read bookmarks), but I did find some very good ones.

Thaumatrope by [archiveofourown.org profile] ancient_moonshine
33.8k, Pacific Rim fusion, LS|MCS/JY
Summary:Lin Shu fights to regain what he had. Jingyan's just trying to save the world and his husband. Mei Chang Su watches and plots, but humanity is both more fallible and dangerous than it seems to be.
They all pay the price.
Why I love it: I only just read this one so I still have a lot of tangled up feelings. (As the tags correctly say, "Angst, so much angst," in the best way.) Instead of only metaphorically, here MCS literally possessed LS; but of course Jingyan is not willing to just accept this, and he's not the only one. The fusion is wonderfully done. Once or twice I was confused by the nonlinear narration but overall it works very well.
Canon knowledge required: NiF: probably not, Pacific Rim: overview should suffice

23.4k, daemon AU, LS|MCS/JY
Summary: Jingyan's greatest secret, that no one will ever know, is that Foya still hasn’t settled.
Why I love it: In contrast, this one is much happier than NiF canon :) Probably as much fluff as you can have in a fic based on the canon plot. All the daemon choices are wonderful.
Canon knowledge required: NiF yes, HDM no

A Consort's Choice by [archiveofourown.org profile] Frostanity (Books of the Raksura)
28k, post-canon
Summary: Post-series. Consolation and her flight are settled in and beginning to thrive. Now they seek a consort. Some in Opal Night favor the idea, others don't, and Shade is trapped in the middle. Moon meddles because he can.
Why I love it: I'm writing this rec post because this fic was just finished and I had to rec it immediately. It is such a wonderful post-canon fic, with wonderful Shade and Consolation and Malachite and Moon and great OCs and Raksura court politics, just all of it.
Canon knowledge required: Yes

Handfast by [archiveofourown.org profile] emilyenrose (Nirvana in Fire)
10k, Nihuang/Mei Changsu, canon divergent AU
Summary: Nihuang with her heart pounding squeezed the Emperor’s hand. She had known before she submitted the report that it might not work. She had already thought of her last resort. She confessed, “I could not choose from the nine good men, your Majesty, because the one I wanted was not there.”
Why I love it: I'm normally not the biggest fan of this ship, but this AU is amazing and completely sold me on it. Nihuang is the best, always but here more than usual. This has the expected amount of angst for a NiF fic but it is also funny and warm and hopeful.
Canon knowledge required: probably yes, definitely at least a summary

Twin Sunrise by [archiveofourown.org profile] gestalt1 (Star Wars)
302k, gen, canon-divergent AU
Summary: Exploring an ancient Jedi Temple on Vrogas Vas, Luke runs into a little more trouble than he bargained for. Meanwhile Doctor Aphra has been sent to secure the pilot who destroyed the Death Star, and the Inquisitor who was once Ezra Bridger has a mission of his own. Their colliding paths will lead deep inside the Temple, to the revelation of secrets decades old, made only more complicated when Darth Vader comes to claim his son.
Why I love it: This is a fascinating AU. I love the plot with great adventure and politics, and the many characters and the interpersonal relationships and their development, especially the Skywalker family drama.
Canon knowledge required: original trilogy yes, SW:Rebels probably not
schneefink: general Meng with Imperial Seal (NiF Meng with seal)
Obviously this is subjective, but after it took me weeks to watch the first half of Nirvana in Fire 2 and I didn't really mind waiting days between episodes, I started watching the second half on Sunday and then binge-watched the rest of it until I was finished. I enjoyed it a lot! Season 2 still doesn't come close to season 1, but to be fair very few shows do.

Very general slightly spoilery notes )

More detailed spoilery notes )

One thing I dislike about NiF 2 is that it has far fewer wonderful female characters than season 1. Spoilery complaints )

I'm curious if there will be a more than a handful of fic and if yes, which characters/pairings, and also which time periods: before season 2, during, or after.Read more... )
schneefink: Jingrui looking inquisitive (NiF inquisitive Jingrui)
I had my civil law exam today (I think it went okay), so I finally had the time to watch a bunch of NiF 2 episodes in a row. Season 2 is nowhere near as good as season 1, but still overall enjoyable. Some of the things I loved about s1 are missing or much rarer in s2 (like a clear storyline goal, intricate sensible plots, and very competent characters) and it's occasionally quite frustrating, but it also has more of a few other things that I like (most notably sibling feelings.)

We watched until episode 28, which seems to be story-wise right between the first and the second half, and I have emotions.

Spoilers )

[personal profile] extrapenguin has recaps every few episodes and as I'm catching up (hopefully faster now that the exam is over) I also write more detailed episode reactions in the comments there.

"Be my disciple at Langya Hall for three years, I guarantee you will know more things too."

I wrote this months ago, and it was originally planned to be much longer. Even after I decided to shorten it I was never quite satisfied with it. I decided to post it anyway instead of hiding it on my hard drive because hey, if one person enjoys reading it *shrugs* I couldn't get the idea out of my head since the second time I watched the scene with the quotes from the summary.

schneefink: (FF Kaylee in hammock)
Today is world poetry day, and in some cafés in Vienna you could pay for a coffee with a poem. I met with my mom and my cousin at a café after work and wrote three poems featuring coffee in five minutes each. The ability to relatively easily write silly poems and rewrite song lyrics is among my favourite things I inherited from my dad, who occasionally rewrites the lyrics of entire musicals for anniversary birthdays.
I also wanted to post a poem but I'm too lazy to pick one out, but I will post at least one sometime in the next month.

DD and I are rewatching NiF two episodes a week, which we decided on because we needed a fixed number to stop ourselves from speeding through it in time we don't have. On the one hand it's something I now look forward to every week and it's great to rewatch it together, but on the other hand there's fic I want to edit or write for which I need to rewatch later episodes and I don't want to skip ahead. Ah well, better late than never. In the meantime I have so many feelings about all the NiF characters that I seem to be able to only express nonverbally, especially about Jingyan and Liyang who are so good and deserve so much better and just *flails*

Not that I have too much drive to write right now anyway. Hopefully next week? I try to at least keep up with commenting on fic I read during the day in the evenings, because it feels too awkward to visit the Archive at work and typing on my phone is annoying.

My head is full of random stuff. Eh, could be worse, at least most of it is not negative random stuff. Stuff like plans to finally try out the "Lord of the Rings" boardgame I got for cheap over a year ago this weekend, or museums, or calendar confusion, or the surprisingly annoying decision what to wear each morning. Not that the company has a strict dress code but still. I think I want to have more necklaces. It's on my list of things to buy with my paychecks, somewhere after "new headphones" because my current ones only work intermittently, and somewhere before "new laptop" because I know me and it'll take me ages to finally decide on a new model. My current one lasted almost eight years even though I didn't treat it very well, I'm attached (and lazy.)
schneefink: River walking among trees, from "Safe" (Default)
A bit late, but: In my fandom_stocking I got great recipe and story and vid recs, and great stories :)
In the Hour of the Ox by [personal profile] naye, a Nirvana in Fire canon-divergence hopefully-fix-it with Lin Chen and Jingyan and absent MCS being very much themselves (with all that entails *facepalm*); and
Tubbs, In Repose by [personal profile] nenya_kanadka, a fun and adorable Steerswoman/Neko Atsume crossover.

Yesterday I played Cards Against Humanity with friends and we had a fantastic time. I'm also a bit proud of myself: in the past often most of the time I've been invited by my friends to do stuff, and for a while now I've wanted to initiate doing stuff together more often from my side, so the friendship is more equal in practice too. I organized the game on Thursday and it turned out great, and the people I introduced to each other got on as well as I hoped they would. I hope I'll be able to do it more often :)

Every once in a while, when people in my dw circle post about what they've read in a week, I'm amazed at how many books they read. Those are weird moments, because I'm a fast reader and I read a lot. And then I think back to how many novel-length fics I read each week and it makes sense again.

I had a therapy session on Monday that felt fairly brutal, but I've been more active in my job search this week than in many previous weeks so she probably knows what she's doing.

After the HTML+CSS basic course last weekend, this weekend I'm being introduced to JavaScript. I'm looking forward to it, even though I'm sorry to miss the Woman's March in Vienna, and I know I'll be exhausted on Monday. D&D on Saturday is not ideal, but I'll make it somehow. At least today is my dad's birthday party and there will be cake. And maybe I'll finally get around to trying out the smoothie machine my roommate Nadine got for New Year's.

2017, day 1

Jan. 1st, 2017 07:56 pm
schneefink: (A:tla group hug)
Happy 2017!
I celebrated New Year's Eve with Lio&Maria and Lisa&Nati, and Maria tried out about ten or so different cocktails, yum. Three other people showed up for a while and drew Lio into a discussion on politics, and I hated that on the last day of 2016 while I wanted to play a game and enjoy myself I couldn't help but hear someone argue on the other side of the room that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were equally bad options. Bleh. Fortunately they left before midnight. We sang a bit (including to Level Up and This Year), and after midnight we played four rounds of cards and I won all of them :) I came home so late that I narrowly missed OT of the Pens-Habs game, but the Pens won so that was good too.

I wrote two stories for Yuletide this year:
See Your Silhouette for [personal profile] lilacsigil
Fandom: Gladiator – Dami Im
1.3k, background White Warrior/Princess
Summary: She hadn't seen the Princess in fifty years.
My assignment. It was pretty frustrating because the prompts were good and I had ideas, but it was hard to put them together into a story, and at some point I planned something much longer and more complex before I condensed it to its current length. It probably made the story better, but there were a few elements I'm sorry I lost.

Step Forward for [archiveofourown.org profile] alessandriana
Fandom: Nirvana in Fire
1.6k, gen, canon-divergent AU
Summary: Jingyan had known this day would come, but for years xiao-Shu had done him the favor of allowing him not to think about it.
The first time I actually finished a Yuletide treat! Jingyu dies from natural cases and so there is no conspiracy. I'd started sketching this AU before I even saw [livejournal.com profile] alessandriana's letter, and when I saw that she prompted it it gave me the push I needed to finish. I really like this AU, and there's a possibility that I'm not done with it yet because I keep thinking of more things that would be interesting to explore in it.

There are many Yuletide stories I still want to read (thanks to everyone who recced stories), but I decided to put those aside for now and try to write something for [community profile] fandom_stocking.
I also still need to do my 2016 year review, aaand I decided to try and do at least half of the [community profile] snowflake_challenge this year, so at least 7 days.

Day 1: In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Huh. I think I'll cheat a bit and refer to "Step Forward" above, because I really like the concept of this AU and I feel like I wrote a good look into it.

Dark Blue Skies, a Steerswoman fic: "In the third year of Willam's apprenticeship with Corvus, Abremio came to Wulfshaven." It's one of my longer works and I'm quite proud of how it turned out.

Assuming Shape, a Young Avengers fic, Teddy Altman's mom's backstory. (I can't remember if her name is from canon somewhere or if I took it from another fic.) I wrote it because I wanted to make her more real (which makes canon even sadder) and I feel like I succeeded.
schneefink: River walking among trees, from "Safe" (ahsoka)
I wanted to rec the first of these as soon as I saw it in the Yuletide collection, and then I realized it fits well with several other stories I also want to rec. What can I say, I really like post-canon Nirvana in Fire fics. My favorites:

The Next Life by [archiveofourown.org profile] julad
17.3k, Lin Shu/Nihuang, canon divergent AU
Additional tags: what the fuck was I thinking, to write a story with a challenge deadline, about a man with three identities having an identity crisis, AND FROM HIS POINT OF VIEW
Summary: Post-series, alternate ending. Lin Shu ends his engagement with Nihuang. Nihuang lets him. Jingyan finds this unacceptable.
Why I love it: I haven't even commented on this yet because I'm still working on how to properly express my enthusiasm. This is just *flails* so good. I love Lin Shu and his long journey of recovery and figuring out what to do with himself, and I love all of his friends who refuse to let him go and call him on his bullshit, Lin Chen and Jingrui and Meng Zhi and so many others but especially Nihuang, who knows that she deserves exactly what and whoever she wants, and Jingyan, who's as stubborn as an ox and just wants his friend back and isn't afraid to use any means necessary. It's often heartbreaking but also warm and sometimes even funny, and it has a lovely happy ending.

Still Here (With All I Hold Dear) by [archiveofourown.org profile] marvelist
10.1k, gen
Summary: Jingyan misses Xiao Shu in all the ways that matter but he cannot fall apart.
Surprisingly enough, Lin Chen can relate to that.
Why I love it: And this is the version where Lin Shu does die, and Jingyan and Lin Chen and everyone else have to live with that. It's a story about grief and healing, and it's gorgeous. Sad but life goes on and eventually there are smiles again. It has beautiful Jingyan & Lin Chen friendship and many other characters too. A great look at what LS/MCS meant to them and what it means that he's gone and what happens after.

Parallax by [archiveofourown.org profile] lostlenore
1.6k, gen
Summary: The work of the Jiangzhuo alliance is never done.
Why I love it: Jingrui fifteen years later, excellent. Recced again because it is my gift and I love it and for completeness' sake.

NiF fic

Nov. 6th, 2016 11:44 pm
schneefink: picture of Relena looking at the viewer (GW Relena)
Writing every day in November: week one was a success, feels good. So far I have written snippets of one sort-of fusion, time travel, a canon divergent AU, post-canon fix-it with magic, and an ep 54 missing scene, all for Nirvana in Fire. I made some structuring progress for my Yuletide fic too, I think it's coming along.
(Other than that last week was unfortunately unproductive -.- This is most likely related. I'm not looking forward to therapy on Tuesday at all.)

I finished one ficlet:
New Life, Different Fur
NiF, 330 words, short silly post-canon fluff with magic.
I wanted to write post-canon fluff for [personal profile] naye and found out that in this fandom that's harder than I anticipated… I accidentally wrote three snippets of spoilers ), I meant to fix it but the angst refused to leave. So I had to come up with something else.

NiF 2

schneefink: River walking among trees, from "Safe" (Parker smiling before jumping off a buil)
They announced that there will be a second season of Nirvana in Fire! I'm almost more nervous than happy. The show is so good, I really don't want my enjoyment to be dampened if I don't like the sequel. It'll be set 50 years later, so at least the characters will be different, but we'll still (I assume) find out a lot about what happened to Jingyan and the others. Of course I know that there's no way that their future is free from hardship, minor spoilers )
On the other hand the sequel will be written by the same person, so there is a chance it'll be as good. In which case the cliffhangers will be terrible.

It'll be a year until NiF 2 comes out – I already know that waiting for the translations and subtitles after each episode comes out will be hard, and it's about 50/50 if I'll manage to wait or spoil myself completely. Hopefully until then I can ignore most of what comes out about the sequel and enjoy my own headcanons.

Speaking of, I'm currently writing three (3!) NiF fics that I feel good about :) Very slowly, but still. Sometimes/when I'm blocked I forget how much fun writing can be. (I never forget the frustration, not even when things are going well.)

In completely different news, today I woke up to zero AO3 notifications. I currently subscribe to 146 stories, 147 series, and 193 authors (authors may overlap with stories/series), so that has never happened before. Not even a comment reply, and I try to leave comments frequently. I was honestly relieved to find out that the problem was on AO3's end, otherwise it would have been a very weird coincidence, and on Halloween of all days. (Problem appears to be solved now, missing emails should appear soon.)
schneefink: River walking among trees, from "Safe" (Fleury)
Yesterday I thought about how much fun it can be to mash together two fandoms who have absolutely nothing to do with each other. "But sometimes," I thought, "it's really hard, like, just as a random example of things I've been watching recently, Nirvana in Fire and hockey."
An hour later I had the basic premise of a story I'm not going to write.

I'll share though. )
