9 Hades pizza recs
Aug. 4th, 2021 07:37 amPossibly my favorite pairing in "Hades" fandom: Achilles/Patroclus/Zagreus. I have occasionally seen it called P/Z/A, which is admittedly shorter but also impossible not to pronounce 'pizza' in my head.

Summary: After Zagreus' mother moves back home, everything is supposed to be okay. His dad still doesn't care about him, but that's normal enough. He's still trying to break out of the Underworld, but that's allowed now. Achilles and Patroclus still don't love him, but that's—well—he's trying to be okay with that. Really.
It would be easier, though, if they allowed him to keep his space from them, and stopped asking him to sit down with them for a chat, and didn't keep asking after that invitation to their house they extended a while ago that he's been avoiding.
He's trying not to be in their way, so why won't they let him?
(aka: Zagreus thinks he's getting in the newly-reunited couple's way but his attempts at avoidance aren't going so well, Achilles feels bad about lying to Zagreus by implying that he wasn't in love with him, Patroclus meddles, But It's Ok Because They All End Up Havin' Sex!
Why I like it: The summary is lying – the sex doesn't magically fix everything, even though it's very nice. This one has insecure!Zag and plenty of feelings and smut.

While Patroclus tries to bring him back to himself, Zagreus just wants to know where they stand.
Why I like it: So much delicious angst! Plus plot, smut, and plenty of feelings.

Summary: There are many nuances to the culture of the realm of the dead that Achilles has yet to fully grasp. As with all things, though, better understanding does come with time.
Why I like it: A lovely slow courtship/seduction with bonus smut.

Summary: As it so happens, relationships work much the same way below the earth as they did upon its surface; they rely upon giving and accepting. Patroclus needs to remember how to give. Achilles needs to remember how to accept. And Zagreus needs to slow down enough to manage either.
Why I like it: This is very sweet, a good look at the characters and good communication and just overall lovely.

Why I like it: This is hot and I enjoyed it.

Summary: Zagreus is a god, sure, but he's not above loving (and doing *other* things) with mortals. Especially not when it's Patroclus and Achilles, pretty much his favorite mortals ever.
Why I like it: This is hot and I enjoyed it. Especially part 3, there is not enough fic with Zagreus being worshipped as a god for my taste.
