Not so good news:
- I woke up with a headache and sore throat today, I think I'm becoming sick.
- My health insurance expired (I was still using my parents') and I need a new one. Extra bureaucracy I don't need.
- I have no Christmas presents so far and very few ideas.
- My to do list is full of things that actually wouldn't be that much effort but that I just don't want to do. Like editing my Yuletide fic. Or OTW stuff, or doing homework, or cleaning up my room, ...
Good news:
- I got some work done for my thesis and finally dared to contact my advisor again (I last spoke to her over a year ago.) She replied today and we set up a meeting for next week.
- Overall, with a few exceptions for specific things, I'm feeling mostly optimistic, despite having only vague plans. It's a nice feeling, I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts.
For the December meme, a question by
genarti: what's a favorite physical place of yours, and why do you love it?
My room at home. Maybe that's an easy answer, but it's true, and there's nothing else that immediately comes to mind. It's mine, it has my stuff in it, I feel comfortable there. It has my books, my bed, my teddy bear, my boxes full of memories, and my laptop. Unfortunately it's currently too messy to take pictures of.
Home generally is pretty great. We have a big kitchen with a lot of space, a large table there to eat, a living room with a comfortable couch and a piano, a bathroom with a bath tub, a large cellar for storage space, and a small garden with strawberries, cocktail tomatos and plums in the summer. There's a national park nearby, with a river to swim in and every second winter or so you can skate on it. Plus it's only 30 minutes to the city center.
I'm planning to move out in the not too distant future, but I'll probably still come back here a lot especially during the summer, to take advantage of the garden. Days full of swimming and then barbecue.
