Yeah, I think people generally avoid that kind of stuff in favor of "Everyone likes each other and wants each other to succeed!" I understand the impulse, but as you say, they're human, so I don't think it's a realistic impulse.

Of course, for some people the alternative to "Everyone likes each other!" is making someone the bad guy, and then that drives away a lot of readers who are fans of that guy, or just who bear him no particular ill will. I saw a Sid/Geno fic the other day that warned for Steve Downie being nasty, and I made a >:( face and didn't read.
