I changed the lightbulb in my room. This is more impressive if you know that my ceiling is 3.50m high, the ladder I had is and looks old, and I'm afraid of heights. But I managed! Then I found out that I should have got the brighter one after all and I'll have to change it.

Instead of pictures of my flat, which I'm still too lazy to take & upload (I also haven't posted the ad for a third roommate yet, which I really should do soon), have pics of muffins. I tried out my oven this week and the muffin recipe book I got from my aunt. Usually I make chocolate muffins, but this time I made blueberry and nectarine muffins. They were good :)

Yesterday wasn't a good day, but at least I finally ate a proper meal around 10pm, and I convinced DD to watch Killjoys. I also finally watched "Big Hero 6." I liked it, especially the first half. The first half was heart-warming, with Hiro and Tadashi's relationship, then Tadashi's death and Hiro grieving, really well done. The second part, starting with the superhero training montage, is fun, but much harder to take seriously. Part of it was the worldbuilding. Hiro introduced a revolutionary technology at that science fair, no way it would have been forgotten after the fire. There should have been people who believed him (though to be fair maybe not a police officer. Otoh robots aren't that rare in this world - I'm not exactly sure about their level of technology.) And seriously, all of them basically turned their science projects into superhero costumes yet nobody knows who they are? They're scientists at a university, they don't work in secret. I'm also not sure how I feel about them getting into a "career" as superheroes, so to speak. One Baymax playing superhero does less good than hundreds of them helping people as Tadashi originally intended them to do.
Still, overall it was a fun and warm movie and I enjoyed it.

On that topic - have a joke:

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light -bulb?
One - as long as the light-bulb wants to change....;)

I love lightbulb jokes. I almost just wrote "how many of me does it take to change a lightbulb? One", but couldn't think of a funny punchline ^^

My impression of big hero 6 was that it was a lot of different ideas half baked into an odd mishmash. A lot of different nice ideas, but underdeveloped and thrown together. Actually, did it have issues in production? It kind of reminds me of the odd things you get when a movie was shot, radically rewritten, had some reshoots, and then was cut together for an entirely different third rewrite.

Wikipedia doesn't mention any issues in production. I didn't know it was based on a Marvel comic, though there seem to be few similarities other than the name and a robot named Baymax. That might explain why they felt the need to emphasize the superhero elements in the later half of the story.
