Ed and Al rescuing prisoners and punching soldiers - they're lucky they dealt with Hawkeye and not anyone else, that could get Ed in real trouble otherwise. You are a soldier, Ed.
Winry found out that Roy killed her parents, and then has to listen to Hawkeye explain how she's still a soldier because she'll do anything to protect Mustang and to Hughes' widow tell how Hughes said he'd do anything to help his friend become Fuhrer. It's complicated.
Winry and Scheska investigating! Winry must have realized that "Juliet Douglass" is a homunculus, but didn't want to scare/endanger Scheska.
People in town who they could trust to help - the list is small. Major Armstrong maybe, but he's military.
Martha, welcome back! Anyone surprised to know that the military initiated the uprising in Ishbal, using Martha's special ops team, raise their hand. Yeah, I didn't think so.
Huh, she was imprisoned in Lab 5 for fourteen years and turned into a human chimaera during that time – I didn't think they could do that back then? Tucker couldn't yet, and why would General Grand have been interested in Tucker's research if others did it better? Or maybe she and the others were turned into chimaeras after Tucker tried with Nina and himself and perfected the formula, meaning she was human for most of the time.
Dammit Al, she could have killed Kimbley if not for you. Your ideals are nice and all, but what do you think should happen to Kimbley? Imprison him? As seen before, not that effective.
Then the Fuhrer killed Martha :( Inside of Al, brutal. Poor Al.
Ed, you too should be careful for judging people trying to kill the people who are trying to kill them. It's a war. I don't think he fully realized that the military can just order him to kill people, even though he seemed resigned to his role as a dog when he met Mustang and Archer in Ishbal.
No more bloodshed is a nice ideal but you are talking to people who are fighting to defend their homes and families and in self-defense. Fleeing and giving up their city to let the military win and then hope the military won't do the exact same thing to the same city does have less bloodshed in the short term, but it's not exactly a viable long-term strategy. Ed is confronted with the terrible things the military did by Scar, and to some extent by Rose, so he can't ignore it any longer, but he still doesn't change his mind.
We know a bit more about Scar's history now, and how his arm works. Finding a lock of hair of Lust's "original" is very convenient.
Scar swore an oath not to harm another State Alchemist? When?
Al, how could you not tell Roy that the Fuhrer is a homunculus?! It's important information. Ed trusts Roy to keep the army out of the city, but he can't override an order from the Fuhrer. Al is frustrating sometimes, he has these occasional moments where he seems almost wise but then shortly afterwards he makes you wonder if that's only because he's very naïve in some aspects.
Not sure why Archer thinks chimaeras could kill Roy, he's the Flame Alchemist. Otoh why does it take Roy, Armstrong AND Hawkeye so long to get out of that stupid cellar? Plot demands, that is why. (What was Roy planning to do anyway? Imprison Archer? On what authority? Or kill him outright?)
Fortunately it seems like the homunculi's master wants them to wait to invade Lior for now – why? I thought the Fuhrer was their master, but apparently not, interesting. But then Archer moves in anyway and the Fuhrer seems fine with it, so their master only wanted a delay?
At least Scar gets to kill Kimbley. Soon afterwards he loses both arms. Why can't Al transmute his own body? He's an alchemist, he should be able to. Instead he's turned into a damsel in distress here, pity.
It's a shame that Ed things Scar turned Al into the philosopher's stone to harm instead instead of doing it to save it, especially after Scar told Lust how important the Elric brothers have become to him and he basically sacrificed his life to save Al.
I went to donate blood today with LB and we both agreed that on October 31st all people working at the main blood donation center should be dressed as vampires. We decided that next year we'll at least bring them plastic fake teeth.
The woman who put my pressure bandage on today was new and if I hadn't paid attention I'd have had a very bloody arm, but everything went well, and their selection of goodies keeps getting better: candy, pocket-sized plaster set, nice pens etc. in addition to the food and chocolate afterwards, and LB got playing cards because it was his fifth donation. They have t-shirts there that simply say "BLOOD" in big white-in-red letters across the chest, also an option for Halloween next year.
