The Asurans had the potential to be very interesting, but the show didn't deliver. What is their motivation is exactly the problem. One fraction is motivated solely by revenge and the other by their search for Ascension? Not very convincing. What did they do for 10 000 years? Fandom could have done it better, but I'm not sure whether the Asurans were even interesting enough that someone bothered.
