Playoffs!

The NHL playoffs start tomorrow! Is it acceptable to wear a Geno Malkin shirt to work? Eh, probably. How is it time for playoffs again already. Last year was amazing, especially during the time when I was actually in the US and could watch the games live with a bunch of fans. And then the Cup! So great.

This year I have low expectations ever since we learned that Tanger can't play :( Ugh, injuries. So maybe this could finally be the Caps' year, and as long as the Pens beat CBJ (and Chicago doesn't win) I'll be happy. (I say that now, let's see what it looks like in a week or two.)

I don't know how many games I'll watch live, probably not too many because of work. But thankfully there are weekends. It's hard to recall what early rounds playoff excitement felt like, and it's also different every year depending on investment, but depending on how the games go, the next few weeks could be stressful. Fingers crossed for no injuries, and for all the teams I like to win.

I was sorry to hear about Tanger. If there was some kind of award for "Best Showing:# of Injured Players" ratio, Pens would win every year.

I did wear my Geno shirt :) Now to decide if I want to watch spoiler-free highlights tomorrow morning or check the result immediately, I'll see how patient I am.

At least the Jackets had their first ever playoff win in regulation? ^^ I should shut up, the series isn't over yet. Though at this point I'm quite optimistic. (I feel so sorry for Caps fans. They're not out by far, but just the general atmosphere...)

If I could upload video from last night before the playoffs, I would--it was really a sight to see. Edmontonians pretty much ALL hop on the bandwagon during the playoffs. Even today are more people wearing jerseys out there on the street than not, and if you walk into a shop, everyone's wearing them.

I actually flew across the ocean during the game, so I missed it all. :( But a friend who lives in my neighbourhood tweeted this (I live about a ten-minute walk from the arena). :)
