Things I did in the last two weeks
Jan. 25th, 2013 09:11 pmConversation with LB at dinner a few days ago that makes slightly more sense in German:
It started with the scientific feasibility of life signs detectors.
Me: Vulcans are slightly telepathic, so maybe...
LB: Volcanoes?
Then we talked about how telepathic volcanoes would compete for the most spectacular explosions and broadest devastations.
A week of exams just finished! Well, two exams, French and Russian. The third one I postponed until March. I won't be happy about it in March, but I'm very glad I did it right now. I'm already behind with looking for a summer job, getting my driving license, training for the Marathon, etc....
I went to a ball and enjoyed it. I've missed dancing. Dancing with LB was nice, even if he was disappointed I didn't know more figures for the Jive and I wanted to do many more Cha-Cha-Cha figures.
I'm following
scans_daily for the occasional gems like this brilliant new Batman villain: The Knitter. This Avengers page is also funny.
It was in the middle of the night and I should have been studying, but I still watched the live broadcast of An Evening of Awesome at Carnegie Hall (starts around 30 minutes in.) DFTBA!!!! I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me. It was brilliant. As if everything else wasn't cool enough they had ( Spoiler ) as a special guest
Yesterday we had a steak sandwich meeting with our debating society, yum. I forgot to write in more detail about WUDC, somehow I never got around to it, maybe during the holidays? We have so many fantastic projects planned (debating at schools, Euros...), it'll be great.
Things I'm following right now: I still love the Lizzie Bennet Diaries (LYDIA!), the latest Cabin Pressure episode was fantastic, and I'm considering continuing either Farscape or Borgen during the holidays (or maybe both.) Mostly I have to finish the first draft of my thesis until the end of February. I'd like to go skiing, but I'm afraid I won't have the time (or possibly I would have theoretically, but I know I'll procrastinate anyway and if I end up having little time AND I went skiing I'll be mad at myself. But I'd love to go skiing and sledding and seeing my grandparents again. Decisions...)
