My body and I, next: teeth
Jun. 29th, 2014 08:11 pmI woke up with a toothache today. I felt it since Friday, but thought it wasn't serious and I could go for a checkup next week. Not so much. With my luck, it's Sunday! Fortunately there are some dentists that are open on Sunday.
So I got my first root canal treatment today. Ugh. The procedure itself didn't really hurt, I only almost choked twice and the numb feeling was very strange. But now the numbness is beginning to wear off and there are flashes of pain every ten minutes or so. I just hope I can fall asleep.
The doctor also told me that my right wisdom tooth is lying wrong and needs to be surgically removed in the near future. Joy. But fortunately it's probably not that urgent and I can do it after the job and the holidays are over.
When I left the dentist it started to rain heavily and I was only wearing a skirt and a thin shirt. A great ending to a very frustrating weekend in which I got almost no work done and had a bad sleep schedule.
I also missed brunch at L. and M.'s - full English breakfast, with sausages and tomatoes and mushrooms and eggs and toast and beans - but they left some for me when I went there later in the afternoon, and we watched "The Usual Suspects" which I hadn't seen before and enjoyed. (I guessed the twist ending about halfway through, I was very proud of myself.) I also got hugs. Later at home I did some OTW work and I'm almost optimistic that I'll be able to write another subchapter today [ETA: okay that didn't work out but I did other not completely useless stuff.] So at least not actually a terrible ending. (But I have a huge list of things to do tomorrow and work starts on Tuesday... oh well.)
