I love it when people have many bookmarks on AO3, it's a wonderful and very convenient way to find new stories in a variety of fandoms. It will be even easier now with the new bookmark filters! More people should use the bookmarks feature.

- says me, the total hypocrite with zero bookmarks -.- I have a word document with 43 pages of fic links (and a separate one just for SGA), transferring that would be way too much work, but just switching now in the middle would also not be ideal, and I'm probably too lazy to use both. (Also, one advantage of my simple list is that I can order however I like, so roughly in order of how much I like them, while AO3 just lets me sort by date bookmarked or date updated. I guess I could use some kind of ratings as a bookmarker's tag, but that would be public.)

On the other hand, I could probably use bookmarks as a shorthand for recs that I never get around to, which I have a lot of. I guess I could just start somewhere? Eventually? *sigh*

In other news, I'm still procrastinating on unpacking the last boxes, but at least yesterday and today I did it by continuing to write my WIP for the first time in months, so that's a silver lining. This weekend we might end our 2.5 year long D&D campaign, which is very exciting, and in the meantime the others are already busy creating characters for the (shorter) campaign I said I'd run afterwards. I have ideas I like but they're still in the development stages, I don't even have names for the country and city yet and they're asking me about the tax code... it'll be exciting and stressful and hopefully fun.

*g* I have over 1000 fics bookmarked, but less than 200 are visible to others. I'm often worried what people might think of me because of my bookmarks, so unless there's a reason why I feel I can rec a fic in good conscience, I keep my bookmarks to myself.

Wow, 2.5 years! I hope your DM finds a satisfying way to wrap it all up and makes it memorable.

I just wasted a ridiculous amount of time tidying my bookmarks but I'm still not sure if the ones I made before the current updates are public or private. They should be public.

I haven't read all of them, but you can filter for the ones with comments.

I am a bitter fandom old who has seen whole beloved archives of fic disappear. So here is my current practice, with any fic I wish to bookmark: I bookmark it on my laptop, on pinboard, on AO3 (or favorite on ff.net, whatever). And then I download a copy to my laptop for archival purposes. I have 1300 bookmarks on AO3, and 2600 on Pinboard (not all fic being on AO3, of course).

ETA: Here are my pinboard bookmarks and here are my AO3 ones! Happy reading!

Well, I am autistic and sort of obsessive about finishing (certain types of) organizational projects like that. Once you start doing it, it's fine and you can get into a habit, it's going back and saving all the old fics you have bookmarked that's the hassle. (Especially given how many of mine were pre-AO3 and not downloadable, just copy and paste.)
