Not as hot today, nice
Aug. 14th, 2018 08:36 pmThe family reunion went well :) And I start my new job, same as the old job, on Monday. I'll get a bit more money than they originally offered, which is good (I could probably have asked for even more ^^ ah well.) Only part-time, so I'll have enough time for other stuff now and later uni, and since the job is pretty much the same I should have a lot of time to listen to podcasts again, also nice. I'll try to enjoy my last week of vacation :)
I decided to add to my bookshelf, about one book a month, and at first it went well but I had terrible luck with the last two: both the third in a trilogy, and both books I got had a different format and spine design than the previous two. With one of them the bookshop ordered the American instead of the British edition because I failed to specify, and with the other one I have no idea why it's different. I'll probably send it back because it just does not look pretty and that's half the reason I bought them as physical copies, but it's annoying. At least my bookshelf will look very nice at some point in the future.

Date: 2018-08-16 11:15 am (UTC)I'm with you on the design of books - I collected several sets of books (medieval mysteries, Wodehouse, Heyer) and a small part of me always got annoyed when the design changed part way through the publishing...
