This is shorter than planned because my wrists are hurting again but have some Yuletide recs.

Oh Good, He's Nineteen by nimblermortal (Elemental Logic series – Laurie J. Marks)

Summary: It's winter in Shaftal, and Medric and Emil's pleasant getaway is disturbed by the arrival of their.. family? Perhaps?
Medric thinks of his affair with Emil as an Autumn Romance, two soldiers broken by war finding comfort in each other's arms. The arrival of their - husband and wives? - forces him to come to terms with whether he is a soldier, just who Leeba is to him, and how it can be possible that he is, in fact, nineteen.
Why I like it: This was written for me and it is fantastic. It matches the tone and atmosphere of the novels perfectly and gives lovely insight into the characters, Medric especially, and really emphasizes all the character relationships and found family tropes that made me fall in love with the books.

Why I like it: Very nice pining with bonus magic and fae.

Just Fairy Tales by damnedscribblingwoman (Versailles (TV 2015))

Summary: It was a mad, reckless, shocking idea, and all the more so for being Liselotte's and not the Chevalier's. The blame for it, like for so many other things, could be laid squarely at Madame de Maintenon's feet.
Why I like it: I barely know this fandom but this was a great look at a couple of flawed people who somehow make it work and also have some fun while incognito at a brothel.

Why I like it: Venom is an alien and human sex is weird, and this is also funny and sweet.

Why I like it: Okay it's barely bonding but still, people who dislike each other to rescue someone they both love is always good and this one here is very nice and has bonus Christmas.

Memories of Unreal Things by 7iris (Temeraire)

Summary: There was a room, and a pallet inside it; a small torch burned low in a socket upon the wall. A man lay upon the cot, his face bruised and battered, his hands curled against his chest bloody, and Laurence did not know him.
Or, a little part of Blood of Tyrants goes differently.
Why I like it: Continuing the amnesia story from the books but with bonus magical healing cock. The character voices here are excellent.
