Snowflake Challenge Day 6

I'm not doing the snowflake_challenge, but Day 6 is a wish list and naye wished for other people to do that, so.

Day 6
In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish.

1) Comments on any of my fic (@schneefink)

2) Prompts. I want to write but I'm utterly lacking in inspiration, despite fandom_stockings etc. Give me story prompts? General, or for fandoms I've written for before. I wrote about some of my favorite tropes in my Yuletide letter.

3) Places to find Critical Role icons? Of the actors or fanart.

4) Tell me tales from your RPG campaigns! :D I love hearing about them, especially the funny and the weird and the dramatic stories.

how do you feel about writing ffxv? you do comment on some ignis h/c fics, soooo? :D because let me tell you, this fandom could ALWAYS use some mid-level sickfic or injury fic. larger than a papercut, lesser than permanent mutilation, you know. ignis is sick on the road and the curatives won't take, and the bros have to get him to the nearest hospital, and the car just won't work because also daemons and danger?

Not really comfortable - I started reading FFXV after I came across recs for Running Behind and Poor Wayfaring Stranger (so more the Prompto whump corner) and then branched out when I saw there was more h/c fic to be had, but I've barely watched any canon, much less played.
(Although now I'm wondering what a wild NiF fusion would look like...)

Yay prompts! Unfortunately none of them are for fandoms I write in rn (I don't know why but I'm not interested in writing Guardian fic.)

I don't know most of those fandoms, but I've bookmarked your Stargate Atlantis fic to read later when I have time (as if I'll ever catch up on all the things in my "to read later" folder that I have now -- I think the whole point of Snowflake is to make sure we all start the year with a long reading list. :-))

My brain is sadly too dead for fic reading or prompting right now, but here's a short silly moment from one of my current campaigns:

The party had just gotten a room in a tavern after a long journey. The party's rogue went to the bar and asked for the weirdest booze they had. I knew the town had pretty frequent trading with the nearby tritons, and that was pretty much the only trading partner this border town had. It'd be no fun to just go "yeah, here's some fancy wine and/or a mixed drink" so I...improvised.

Let's just say the night ended with everyone in the tavern getting high/drunk off minty glowy turquoise triton vodka and the rogue failed his constitution saving throw so bad he thought he had to swim up to his room. (Getting weird triton booze is now of course the party's main goal in any new tavern. This got real weird for the druid when she got her hands on the green stuff).

It sure was! XD This group is a hoot (as is my other one - that group has two people who love to draw, so they tend to illustrate our escapades in hilarious ways; especially whenever there are puns. My dear sister, aka our dragonborn ranger, so loves her puns).

Hmm... my favorite players/faces are Matt, Marisha, and Taliesin, and my favorite character is Caduceus. Maybe Matt face-palming? Marisha climbing on her chair? Caduceus from the intro right before shrooming the undead? Or whatever catches your fancy :)

(Personally I found it hard to get into when I started with campaign 1 episode 1, I started with episode 23 (iirc) and then later went back, so if you're not sure yet if you'll like it you could try that. Or start with campaign 2.)

Prompts, you say... hmm, maybe you could combine your fondness for hurt/comfort and time travel to write about a character getting sent back in time and offering a little much-needed mentorship to an earlier version of themself? ^_^

Ooh, intriguing! I've read a fic like that for Lin Shu/Mei Changsu and it was great. Lin Chen would be a great character for that, but I'm nervous about writing him. Hmm, it would be fun with Shen Wei... I'll think about it :D

Tales from an RPG campaign. . . Well, probably the most fun I ever had at the table was with one of the groups I DM for, they were trying to sneak into an enemy army camp and disable their siege weapons. The plan worked pretty well - they sent one member of the party around to the opposite side of the camp and got her to summon a host of berserker spirits to attack the camp and cause confusion while the rest of them snuck around disabling the trebuchets. Their final action was to try and steal as many of the enemy's horses as they could, and scatter the rest of them. In order to scatter them, one of the magic users minor illusioned the sound of a lion's roar, which scattered *all* of the horses, not just the ones she was trying to scare, so they took off in all different directions. Most of characters were already mounted, so they just had to try and get the horses back under control, but the gnome wizard hadn't been mounted yet, so he cast fly on himself to try and go after a horse, caught up to it, and then proceeded to spectacularly fail all of his rolls to try and get it back under control, so he was holding on to the halter rope and being dragged along behind this fleeing horse, banging into a bunch of trees and swearing when the rest of the party caught up to him.

Wow, it sounds like they came up with a good plan and mostly managed to execute it, a rarity! The poor gnome wizard though ^^

How do you feel about daemon AUs? -> Lin Shu's daemon didn't re-settle after Meiling. This is rather inconvenient for Mei Changsu.

Interesting! There are already some great NiF daemon AUs (for example I love for every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.) I think if LS/MCS' daemon didn't change form he'd figure out how to separate the way witches do and then come up with some way to pretend. But the most difficult part for MCS would probably be that his daemon being the same would force him to confront the fact that he's not a different person now, he's still (also) Lin Shu and the seeds of Mei Changsu were already in Lin Shu, so he can't separate the personalities as clearly as he tries to do in canon.
