I'm a great believer in Not Cooking (unless you count microwaving). I always have in the house some sort of prepared starch (pasta, polenta, quinoa, potatoes, or rice), pasta sauce, cheese, and veggies, fresh and frozen. In a real pinch, I'll eat nuts and raisins. Joe suggests keeping tortillas and canned beans on hand.
