How about magic giraffes
Sep. 22nd, 2019 11:29 pmI went to the zoo today. Giraffes look really weird, and now I want a halfling sorceress NPC riding her giraffe familiar because that would look cool. Impractical but whatever ^^
To finish my pledge for
getyourwordsout this year I have to write almost every day for the next few months, so I'm trying to write every day in September. So far I've managed, though I don't really have an idea for a next story and so I'm writing a lot of snippets that will never go anywhere. A few people have been sharing six sentences of what they're working on each Sunday, maybe I'll try that.
From this week, a bit of rambling feeling out the next chapter of my WIP Kingdom of Magic.
Even as children, Shahar and Draco had not gotten along. Both of them were used to ruling their social circles, and both of them saw the other as more of a threat or challenge than anything else. Besides, Draco thoughtlessly insulted Deka, and that was something Shahar didn't forgive. Not that she needed to defend Deka: he was perfectly capable of doing that himself.
When Shahar had come to Hogwarts, she'd known that Draco would probably rule over his year in Slytherin, and that the Malfoy money and power would give him influence over the rest of Slytherin as well. That became perfectly obvious when his father bought the Quidditch team new brooms.
I need to reread "Kingdom of Gods" - I need to do that anyway, Yuletide nominations are soon and I don't know what I want yet. Hm.

Date: 2019-09-29 08:49 pm (UTC)Writing a lot of snippets sounds like a great idea! I've tried to do the same, reminding myself that people who draw doodle all the time to practice/warm-up/just have fun, so why shouldn't we writers do the equivalent of that? Sending good writing vibes!
Lovely fanfic snippet! That set-up told me a lot about Shahar, even though I've no previous knowledge of her (I really should get on reading the Inheritance Trilogy, because it sounds super interesting!)
