Critical Role: I gave up on watching all of it because four hours every week is a lot and I wasn't that invested in the current storyline, but I followed what was happening and when it sounded particularly interesting I watched, and there were some great scenes. (I didn't bother taking notes for all of them, but quite a few.)

I finally caught up with the Juno Steel episodes of the Penumbra podcast, which I started listening to because I kept seeing intriguing posts about it on Tumblr. It's fun! I don't love it the way I do TMA, but I do enjoy it a lot. Season 2 dragged a bit, but the character development at the end was very nice, and I love the set-up of season 3 so far.
Buddy Aurinko's crime family in space! :D Wonderful. Fingers crossed for Juno and Peter, they're fun together and they could be good. Getting "Man in Glass" from Peter's PoV was great. And now, "not poetry" at night xD
I suspect we'll get PoV episodes for every family member, meaning there will be a Rita episode… I was hesitant about Rita at first because she seemed annoying, and I've disliked her since the second "Rita Minute" where her ego was more important to her than endangering someone's life. But maybe she'll get character development too?
And of course now there's a hiatus, after the last episode ended on such a cliffhanger!

Thanks to [personal profile] dhampyresa, I also finally started listening to The Mechanisms. I listened to "The Bifrost Incident", "Tales to be Told" and "Once Upon a Time (In Space)" so far and enjoyed it a lot. Everything is space AUs, the tales are tragedies but not in a everything-is-futile way, and the songs are varied and catchy.

And finally, the season 5 trailer of The Magnus Archives is out! I'm so excited for this season! Tea is not to be trusted anymore – neither are your senses, or your mind. Well, it is a nightmare kingdom. And Jon is struggling with his monstrous impulses, excellent *rubs hands*
Also, this: "sorry i know this is a serious situation but the fact that the fucking lovecraftian apocalypse podcast had to slap a disclaimer on their new trailer like "sorry the world went to hell while we were on hiatus we didnt mean to echo whats going on irl" is just. so fuckin surreal."
Only a few more days.

Oh man, this is so weird! I watched Critical Role a lot when the second campaign started, and at some point I just stopped, because I lost interest and spend my time differently. A few weeks ago, a friend told me how good the last few episodes were when we were playing our own campaign, and I went to check it out again.

I listened to a few of the really early episodes to get back into the groove, and I fell in love with the characters all over again. Around episode 26, I thought, "Oh hey, this is new!". So I put away my knitting, and I concentrated on watching the "new" episode. I really love Keg, but I thought to myself "Is it really a good idea to ambush a party of slavers, numbers and skills largely unknown, in the middle of a road?" I had no idea what the fuck I was getting into.

I am still dealing with it, and I really don't want to be spoiled, so I can't discuss anything from later episodes with you here. I just think it's a weird coincidence that you also occasionally watch Critical Role^^

Aw man, that's a hard episode to jump into!
Yeah, don't tell me^^ I cried my eyes out that day, and my friend had to endure my hysterical babbling via chat for a while. I have never before had a player character die on me, and I took it hard because just a few weeks earlier, a friends character nearly died for good in our own campaign.

I have listened to the next few episodes after that, and Beau and Nott nearly killed me with how they handled their grief. I like Taliesin's new character, but I think it will take some time to really love him the way I did Molly.

(I just realized I can't even use my favorite CR icons because spoilers ^^)
Thanks for thinking about it! *hugs I love the fact that you have multiple Critical Role icons in the first place^^

I started watching Critical Role in *checks* 2017, huh, it's been a while... I was a bit sad that I'd become less invested, but who knows, maybe it'll change again :)
Was that during the first campaign when you started? I tried a few episodes, but I never really warmed up to the characters. For me, interest comes and goes, and like you said, four hours plus is quite an investment every week. It is on my list of things to catch up on, though^^

I mean, the guy makes tea out of dead things (sorta), what's not to like?^^

If there is an animated series, I will totally watch it!
