Just in time for Easter the sakura tree in front of my window started blooming, which is lovely. We had almost entirely clear blue skies recently, but today it rained, which is good because it's barely rained this spring so far. And I can't remember the last time we had a proper thunderstorm, it'd be nice to have one again.

My usual running route is currently way too busy during the day, so on Saturday I got up early and then went for a run at 6:40am. There were very few people around and it was very nice, I ran for two hours and I'm definitely planning to do that again. (Maybe even a little earlier, to catch a little of the dawn.) As very much not a morning person I'm especially proud of myself.
It's not that I don't like mornings: rather, I never manage to go to sleep early and I don't want to leave my bed in the morning. I keep meaning to work on both of these things, occasionally I'm more successful for brief periods but it never sticks…

Sakura trees are so pretty!

Go you for getting up early! I can manage it when I have to due to work or an appointment, but if I don't have that pressure my sucess rate is low.

Ooh, go you! I haven't done a 2-hour run in, uh, a long time.

I'm reading about your not getting much rain while I'm getting a torrential downpour and windstorm! Global communication is neat and weird.

Congratulations on getting up early. I'm bad at getting to bed in a timely manner or at getting up, and the only reason I started getting to work on time was that I passed 40, I think. (Age ties to circadian rhythms and all that.) Since working from home, I've been sleeping about an hour and a half later than I really should be, which will be a problem when I have to go back to going in to the office ....

I find changing my sleep schedule most successful when I go to bed at a consistent time. Now I often wake up at 7AM on a weekend. Madness! Though with WFH, I am sleeping in slightly because there's no commute so that's going to be a fun~ adjustment when I'm back full time. Though I am trying to start at the same time, because I want to catch the afternoon sun.

Good luck running earlier!
