Wednesday is currently podcast day: I come home from work and then DD and I listen to new TMA, and then after a little while to let that sink in I listen to new Skyjacks. (And then Thursday is Beholding day, where we watch other people listen to new TMA, which is also fun.)
TMA #172: Strung Out
Web episode! A play, this time – I love all the different statement formats. I wonder what else we'll get. (Not that many left until they passed all of them once…)
"All that is required is a little bit of willpower. You have a little bit of willpower, don't you?" Ow. Fuck you, spider.
The spider telling Francis that this is what Francis really wants, deep down, and that their tormentor has no choice either so they shouldn't blame them – aaargh I hate that spider a lot. Poor Francis.
Pause for Laughter. Very effective. Especially after "No. Not this time. I won't." Uuugh.
Drinking spiders *shudders* I've seen the Web described once as "the fear of manipulation and being controlled, And Also Spiders Are There", which has an element of truth but I can't deny it's effective.
Yeah, what does the Web want… Good for Martin to try and resist the paranoia (fingers crossed he succeeds.)
Skyjacks #65
"If you think you're old enough, you are" Gable I'm not convinced of your parenting advice xD Aww, Gable wants to be a quasi-parental figure but even in absentia Travis undermines them.
Finding out that Gable is on that ship, Travis immediately assumes that Gable is in trouble and he wants to "save" them :D
Wait the skin can still feel stuff??!! *shudders*
I'm not the biggest fan of the "Gable is stupid" emphasis. Intelligence isn't their strength, yes, but still, no need to make fun of them for it. :/
Yess callback to Gable becoming friends with Dref :)
Wait, angels control the Sovereign's empty heavens? Ooh. And the Church is under their domain…
Gable had black and gold wings, hell yeah :D And decapitated the First Fallen. (So if it is so hard for angels to die, they might still be around – maybe as a Church reliquary as well…) And has another feather now… and there's still stuff we don't know about what she learned the previous time! I think. James said they recovered a memory, but I'm not sure if this is the one that so shocked Hildred.
(Sidenote, it's annoying that there are no transcripts.)
Travis hasn't kissed someone often in the past 170 years or so, so since Original Margaret. He's a romantic ^^ and, clearly, a bottom. Heh.
Minnie trusting Jonnit because he's part of the captain's inner circle, fun, even though he's just two years older than her. (13/14 is the usual age cut-off for Orimar's orphans, but Jonnit joined when he was 15, though that's clearly too young to be an adult. Hm.)
I didn't really spend time on Discord before becoming a Rusty Quill patron, for the early access chat mostly, but that server has a lot of people so I hardly say anything. The Oneshot Discord is much smaller, so it's easier.
Today in #campaign we had, among other things, discussions about how one could build an organ out of mutilated undead angels, and the culture that would spring up around featherweave accordions being played near fire. Clearly an excellent fandom.
