Bloodrights, by N. Lee Wood. I wouldn't rec it without caveats (abusive religious authority figures, child sexual abuse etc.) but it also has some fascinating story elements I've rarely if ever seen elsewhere related to prophecies, the pursuit of vengeance/power etc. Plus the nostalgia factor, it was one of my favorite books as a teenager and it wasn't until years later, when I'd forgotten the title, that I even understood why.
