Day 2 of playing Hades.
I made it to the Bone Hydra! Once, and I died quickly, but still. I got lucky with a boons + hammer combination (spear attacking thrice + deflecting.) Overall I only made it to Asphodel twice today... Still, progress! And I unlocked all the weapons. So far I think the shield and the spear are my favorite, but I'll have to try out the others a little more.
My least favorite enemies are the skeleton bomber twins and the doomstone. I managed to destroy each of those once, which is better than nothing, but all the other times... grr. It would help if I got better at moving while fighting! That would also make it much easier to fight the stupid laser crystals. And anything else, come to think of it... Practice.
Story-wise, I saw the second flashback, with Zagreus being fired from his job in the administrative chamber because Hades says he's only a hindrance, while Zagreus complains he hasn't been trained properly. The condescending narrator comments were harsh. Zagreus and Hades' relationship is so terrible! That moment where Hades asked if Zagreus wanted his old job back, Zagreus sarcastically asked for it, and Hades told him that jobs are earned, not begged for, ow.
I also found out that Megaera knows that Zagreus is looking for his mother, interesting. Nyx knows, Achilles (iirc), but I don't think anybody else does? (That I know of, so far.) Clearly Zagreus and Megaera were close. I planned to give her nectar the first time I could, but then she was so mean I got mad and didn't ^^ Next time.
Game format is unfamiliar and therefore still a bit odd to me. With a book or show or podcast etc. I can always go back and reread/rewatch/relisten, but with a game? Once the scene is done, it's done. I could in theory start a new game but then I'd have to start from the beginning again. I'm glad that there are playthroughs on Youtube I could watch if I really wanted to see a particular scene again, but still.
