TMA: almost finished

I can hardly believe that the TMA finale is this Thursday. Feels like I already miss it. I really enjoyed listening to the new episode every week with DD, and then speculating and reading up on fan theories etc.

I didn't find the time to write detailed episode notes, but a few things:
- Georgie and Melanie! Prophets and cult leaders, heh. Well, temporarily… at least the Admiral wasn't harmed, as Jonny promised.
- Martin going with Annabelle like that was stupid, but I did enjoy their conversations. Martin just wanted to make sure that Annabelle gave up on her idea to fill him with spiders ^^ (Headcanon, the reason why she abandoned that plan was because of Jon and Martin's promise not to doom the world over each other, which I loved.)
- Annabelle implied that the Web chose Jon from the beginning, but the only thing that makes sense imo is that the Web looked for many people who might be suitable (after all, webs are flexible and don't depend on a single strand), and the "investment" in Jon happened to pay off. Unsurprising that it reignited Jon's guilt though.
- Brief crossover note, Annabelle's description of the Fears spreading to other worlds kinda reminded me of The Bifrost Incident ^^

One prediction for #200 (which btw has an excellent title and I can basically see Jonny's face when he came up with it): I don't think Jon will be able to go through with their plan, because he can't stomach the idea of someone else having to endure the same things he did. Maybe Martin finishes the job for him, or he doesn't… we'll see!

Almost there!!! No early release for the finale, so for once I have to wait until Thursday...

Woah, yeah, that's tomorrow! Feels kinda weird to suddenly be at the end of it. But at the same time I'm so glad it gets to have a proper ending! I've followed way too many series that just sort of fizzle out after going on and on for far too long.

I don't really have any predictions for ep 200, but I think you might be on to something with yours!

I'm so glad it got a proper ending! And it felt like an end, so I don't even feel like I particularly want spin-offs or additional content (apart from fanworks, of course). I do very much look forward to the Q&A.

Same! I really liked the ending, felt very fitting for what had been built up and leaves a lot of room for fanworks without feeling "unfinished". I'm looking forward to whatever else Jonathan Sims & co get up to (and really need to check out the other stuff they've already got up), but I'm so happy they've allowed The Magnus Archives to end. Also looking forward to Q&As and behind the scenes stuff :)

Btw, have you read Thirteen Storyes, the book Sims put out a while ago?

I too very much look forward to the Q&As etc. :) I've only listened to the first one yet and it was delightful.

I haven't read "Thirteen Storeys" yet - I haven't been reading many books in the past few months - but I'm planning to. (My flatmate is currently reading it and experience shows that if she loves it I'll read it sooner rather than later ^^ ) On his stream Jonny also mentioned that he's writing a second book, and he and his partner are currently running a Kickstarter campaign for a collection of RPG micro-settings that I look forward to.

I've only heard one (as of yet) too and it was indeed delightful! Will have to try and get to the other released extra content soon because I'm sure it'll all be a lovey experience <3

Totally get you on the not reading too many books in the last few months - I've somehow managed to get back into the swing of reading, but I had a looooong time this past year when I barely read a single page :/

Hadn't heard about the second book or the Kickstarter! (I haven't caught up on the stream yet). Sounds very interesting!

I checked out one of the micro settings from the Kickstarter and it sounds like fun :) I hope they manage the last stretch goal to get to the one with the magic librarians.

Well, you never know what will happen last minute :) Plus, the rest of the game does look fun so I won't regret backing it even if the stretch goal doesn't get added!
