I beat 32 Heat in Hades! Holy shit! Just recently I though to myself that I finally feel like I'm getting good at the game, and this is certainly a strong indicator.
Escape #330, after almost 280 hours :) I only started even trying 32 Heat runs a few days ago (jumped straight to 32 after getting to 20, after doing some practice to get used to BP2 and FO2), mostly with Zeus shield, but never got past Theseus before. This time I made it, with a Talos Fists Merciful End build. My most used aspect on Malphon is Demeter, so that was a surprise, and I have not actually played with Merciful End often (but ME being great was unsurprising.)
I'm currently trying to max out the Mirror, even though I never use Fated Authority, but then I accidentally left it on… that sucked, but fortunately I didn't need it. I started with Athena keepsake and got the Dash immediately, then got Ares through an Erebus Gate (still only a common attack though), got Divine Flourish in Tartarus, and then in Asphodel I got +3 dashes from Hermes and Merciful End from Charon. I also got epic Impending Doom and managed to get a few poms into it, that helped. (The fourth god in my god pool, besides Athena, Ares, and Demeter, was Artemis, but I purged the boons I got from her.) Tight Deadline 3 was very stressful! Fortunately I got chamber 12 Sisyphus, fountains in Asphodel and Elysium, and chamber 34 Patroclus gave me 3 DDs back. It was a 3 sack in Styx with tiny vermin, but it worked out fine.
So now I have unveiled all three of Skelly's statues, very nice.
As seen in the screenshot above, I also reached 20 Heat with Stygius, and hopefully will soon with Varatha and Coronacht. The Adamant Rail is still my least favorite weapon, and I didn't get past 13 Heat yet.
I have a new fastest time: 14:26:58 with Achilles spear (Triple Flurry Jab, Frost Strike + Killing Freeze, Hyper Delivery etc.)
Next goals: getting to 20 Heat with the other weapons, maxing out the Mirror, and ideally getting the Codex to 100%. Still incomplete entries: companions Fidi and Shady, Seamare and the rarest fish from Greece (which I still have never caught, grr), Charon's loyalty card, Anvil of Fates, and Erebus. Definitely doable.
I still occasionally get new dialogue, which I love. Mostly when using different keepsakes/weapons/etc. than I usually do, and I got some upon raising the Heat to 32. I might make another post with some of my favorite recent quotes and story details, but now I'm celebrating a milestone with waffles and strawberries.

Date: 2021-06-01 11:03 am (UTC)It's funny how people either LOVE or HATE the rail a lot of the time, or maybe not that strongly but you know, either want to use it all the time, or hardly at all. I started to like the rail, but my favourite weapon of all things ended up being Aspect of Beowulf (which is funny because I haaaated the shield at first).
Good luck with the Codex! I know one other person who's done it. I've maxed out the mirror, but basically stopped as soon as I got all the main game achievements I was comfortable with getting. It's amazing that you got to heat 32, that's a big achievement <3
(Also it's so nice still getting random bits of dialogue, so much love has been put into this game).

I played Zeus shield the most because I enjoyed still being able to block after throwing my special at enemies, but I should really give Beowulf another try. There are 24 weapons, no wonder there are several I haven't played much/in a while.
Maxing out the mirror is very impressive too, kudos!
The dialogue is fantastic, I'm so glad I started taking so many screenshots (only shortly before the credits but still.)

Date: 2021-06-09 07:57 pm (UTC)I hadn't even realized how much while playing I constantly had in the back of my head that I should try to get better because I wanted to reach 32 Heat eventually. Now that I don't have that I'm still having fun and it's more relaxed :)
