Oh yeah, I too ended up less "existential dread" after finishing SOMA and more "how are they all going to get along on that space ark??" + "what's next for the under-sea people?" I think watching/reading plenty of scifi as a youngling gets you prepared for the brain-upload-is-person? question rather more than the average viewer, so to speak. But oooh, that looks like a terrifyingly interesting SGA fic to read! I shall make sure to bring tissues!
