I got Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night fic for Yuletide :D
Show Him the Sky by
silveradept
4.7k, post-canon (background hints of Gebel/Miriam)
Summary: Gebel returns to himself abruptly from the crystal corruption. While Miriam and Johannes offer him the possibility that they have won, he must be on his guard that this is another trick from the demon that has tormented him for so long. Can he even trust that he is who they say he is?
Canon knowledge required: Yes
A wonderful Gebel-centric fix-it fic that gave me even more feelings about Gebel than I already had, and the ending is perfect.
And I wrote three stories:
A New Area for
marsdragon, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
2.5k, gen, post-canon
Summary: Eventually, all the demons are dead. Miriam never thought about what she would do next.
Notes: About 9k into writing "Ritual of Cooperation" I started to doubt if I would be able to finish it in time, so I decided to write a shorter back-up fic. I like how it turned out, and I'm glad that I wrote Miriam fic.
Ritual of Cooperation for
marsdragon, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
14.1k, missing scene/adventure
Summary: An alchemist and a demon hunter walk into a hell-raised castle together.
Notes: In past years I had big plans for my Yuletide stories that I realized I couldn't write and then I got stressed etc. This year I started with a smaller idea: originally I only planned to write the first chapter. But I had fun, so I added another chapter. And then I thought "you know what would be cool" and added an entire extra adventure. Still canon compliant, even!
I enjoyed writing this so much. My recipient mentioned that they like thinking about how game mechanics work in-universe, so I had a great excuse to put in all the worldbuilding theories and details I wanted. I even had no trouble finding a title I like.
(I got some helpful feedback that some phrases were wrong for the time/place but that readers most likely would not notice so I kept them in because I was too lazy.)
Inside the Secret Lair for
azurefishnets, Carto
100 words
Summary: Cartographers love finding hidden places. Not everyone is happy about that.
Notes: I played Carto in November and then immediately wanted to write a treat for it, but nothing came together until I got the idea to make it a drabble. The prompt was for Granny Maldpo having an adventure, and, well, what is typical of an adventure? ;)
This was also my most popular fic this Yuletide by far (and I was glad for it, if not for this treat I probably would have been rather more disappointed with the lack of feedback for my Bloodstained stories.)
This was the most fics I ever wrote for Yuletide so far, the most words, and also the earliest I finished my assignment. I had fun!
Recs still to come (probably. Hopefully.)
