Minor annoyance: after playing 50 times my win percentage at normal Worldle is 98% or 49/50, and that one time was because for some reason I tried "toady" instead of "today." Hmpf. But apart from that, my usual tactic of starting with water - music - polka no matter what is serving me very well. (I deviated from that only once, when my first try had 4 of 5 letters correct.)

That's an interesting choice. I usually go with cause - mirth as my first two, and work from there.

Those seem like good choices! I started with my combination on impulse and then just kept using it because I like the way the words sound.

For the longest time my average was right around 4; pretty much any time I got a 3, I'd soon get a 5 to balance (and vice versa). Since changing devices, I've had two complete misses, which bums me. My starting sequence is "dairy" and "louse" (or "mouse", depending), often followed by one of "thing", "think", or "thank".

My average must be somewhere between 4.5 and 5, I think. To my delight I just discovered WordleStats exists.

I love how everyone has opening word combos that they swear by :D

(Mine are 'spare-bound-flick'. Sometimes followed by 'might' if the letter combos are throwing nothing up, because between those four I'm covering all the vowels and most of the common consonants. I might deviate, but I've been caught out before by the 'I have four of the letters, which is the fifth, oh crap, turned out there were more options than I realised').
