I wanted to make another post but most things on my brain currently - well, the ones I want to talk about - are in some way Minecraft-related, either playing myself or watching other people play it. Well, Minecraft and pending-exam-anxiety, but I took the next week off for studying so I should be fine, fingers crossed. Minecraft is helpful for anxiety, but I'll need to be very disciplined so it doesn't distract me too much. Fortunately I can usually never play longer than an hour at a time before I need a break, idk why.

DD tried out a Minecraft demo and loved it :D (Quote DD: "I feel like "loved it" doesn't fully encompass my emotional reaction.") I'm very happy and proud of my success rate at getting her into things, it's fantastic. (DD: "You're an evil enabler and I hate you." Me: "I'm so good at this." DD: "You know what's the worst thing, you're getting better at it." This might be a good place to mention that we are also currently watching SMP Earth together, and while she's not watching herself, she admitted to enjoying the exposure to MCC and DSMP through me.)
She's on her second world (she got frustrated because there was so much ocean in the first one), and she's already built herself a house with a farm and she has a ton of resources because she's exploring so many caves. DD has been playing different versions of Civ and the Sims for over two decades, and in the past year I got her into playing Hades and Phoenotopia, and yet yesterday she told me that playing Minecraft is the first thing that makes her feel like a "gamer," which tbh I find hilarious.
Maybe we'll play together on a multiplayer world eventually :)

Teams were announced for the next MCC and I'm very excited about it already. I'm still watching older MCCs, I'm up to MCC 9, but my pace has slowed down a lot because the more players I'm familiar with the more different perspectives I want to watch.

I've also been watching more DSMP, some old ones and some more recent ones. Yesterday was the big end of Las Nevadas and it was fun. I haven't watched most of the previous Las Nevadas videos, I just read up on the plot on the wiki, but fortunately I could follow along just fine. I'm not too enthusiastic about the shaders/general more movie quality, but it was still entertaining.
Quackity was disappointed there weren't more people in his town, so his solution was to convince Foolish to build an army of brainwashed slime people together, oookay! And to teach them to be human apparently he showed them videos about the history of the server (I'm sure a lot of analysis could be done on what he said over what clips.) Punz convinced Purpled to raise the presumed-amnesiac remains of Charlie Slimecicle to kill Quackity as revenge - Punz was only a paid messenger, totally not personally invested, he just emphasized that Quackity did unspeakable things to Dream as part of his job. Dream shows up with Purpled and shows again that he is good at making threats (someone pointed out that it looks like Dream is also wearing the crown he started wearing in tribute to Techno on this server, and, uh, that would be kinda hard to explain…) but they get attacked by the slime army. Slimecicle throws Purpled off the tower, then has a great monologue to Quackity about the lessons he learned and ends with that Quackity is not a good person (and that's before he knows about the army of brainwashed slime people!) and throws him off the tower too. Apparently Quackity gives up on revenge and leaves letters for several people, including Kinoko Kingdom and Techno, but I'm not sure how serious he is. It's odd that in a Quackity-focused lore stream his final change of heart happens off-screen and is so vague.
Meanwhile, Ranboo is visited in limbo by Mexican Dream, and is still waiting to be revived :( (Ranboo made a 2-year-anniversary video where he said he doesn't want to be known as a Minecraft Youtuber anymore – not that he uploaded anything on Youtube for the past year – but I hope that only means he does more other content and he doesn't stop playing in either DSMP or MCC, that would be sad.)

There's no breaks built into the game. No save points, no cut scenes for story progression, no turn ends. There is literally nothing to make you pause. I find it really, really intensive. Maybe that's why?
