There will be a Hades sequel!

Eeeee! It's been almost exactly two years since I started playing Hades, my first computer game in many many years, and it's still my favorite game. It's brought me so much joy and was also my "gateway drug" to so many other cool games. I've been wondering for a while now what Supergiant Games would come out with next, I was wondering if it'd be another roguelite or something completely different and was looking forward to both options, but I didn't expect a sequel. I'm so excited!

From the trailer, it looks like the gameplay will be similar in many aspects, which makes sense, but with new weapons, abilities, and gods. Melinoe looks great, and so does the magic. It looks like Chronos captured Hades and Melinoe has to fight her way downwards to defeat the titan and rescue her father. It's set after the first game, but we don't know how long after; it's meant to be playable for people who don't know the first game but I'm sure we'll get appearances from plenty of characters we already know. There's no way Zagreus isn't in this at all :)
I also really like the other characters we've already seen. Well, to be honest I don't like the design of Nemesis - her tiny waist looks very strange and her armor looks impractical and silly imo - but these aren't final designs yet anyway. And Melinoe has a ghost arm! Aaah have I mentioned that I'm very excited for this?

There will be more information about Early Access next year, I suspect it'll be late last year rather than very soon, but in the meantime I'll enjoy the anticipation. And maybe I'll finally get a sturgeon and complete Achilles' codex until then.
