More Life Series SMP

schneefinkI'm sick and I hate it. Uuuugh. Not sure if my recent increased anxiety levels are related or not but I hate that too. At least I didn't infect DD this time because she wasn't here this week, though there's still a chance depending on when she returns, we'll see.
I didn't have much brain for anything, so I ended up watching quite a few MCYT videos, mostly from the Life series.
Last Life
I didn't enjoy this as much as Third Life. Reds being not allowed to ally with non-reds definitely put a damper on any alliances. I did enjoy Grian and Mumbo's friendship (including Grian trying to kill Mumbo so they can stay friends after he himself becomes red), and also Grian's interactions with Scar, and with Joel. I bet several things would have turned out quite differently if they hadn't accidentally played on easy mode for most episodes xD Like the end crystals and the wither, for example.
But tbh I only watched Grian's episodes for this, and I did not have much brain and was also doing other things at the same time so I probably missed quite a bit. Still, it didn't grab me enough that it's high up on the priority list. I heard that Etho and his relationship with Bdubs was fun this season so I might watch that eventually. Bdub's boogey kill on Grian, at night with the spooky music playing and after spending half an hour with Etho doing a really good job of not being suspicious and apparently not even thinking of attacking him, is a strong start.
Double Life
I mostly followed this guide , additionally I often watched Grian and/or Scar first.
Grian's first episode was already hilarious xD The horns! Grian starting to fear that his soulmate might be Scar because of how much damage his soulmate is taking! The scream when he finds out! Scar not getting a clue and Grian avoiding telling him as long as possible! I already love it.
The early divorce between two pairs is sad. At least Cleo and Scott are doing well with their chosen soulmates.
Episode two and Grian is already trying to cheat on Scar ^^ And then sends out Scar to collect things to build their base together. Meanwhile Scar has a bucket of powder snow and sits in the snow occasionally to get back at Grian, and gets Scott and Pearl to do the same.
Episode three has a bloody warden in the overworld! Damn, the darkness effect is even creepier in daylight. It was also very fun to first see the warden from various POVs and only later find out more about how Tango and Jimmy planned it to get revenge on Scar for burning down the ranch (which was revenge for them stealing his horse) but it went very wrong. Martyn's POV was also a lot of fun, first spending time with Cleo in the panda reserve after Scar brought them both there (actually a great place), accidentally killing Cleo, and then being approached by Ren to join the sorcerous demoness Pearl. The summoning ritual actually worked, eventually xD
And Grian's sugarcane gets stolen so he doesn't have a monopoly on that anymore – but while everyone else searched or the sugarcane he collected 90% of the sand on the server, genius.
Episode 4: Scar telling Pearl that his soulmate is baking bread for another person, sounding heart-broken, oh no ^^
Fishing the warden was hilarious. But, sorry, Joel, if you voluntarily let Grian launch you into the air from a pillar with a fishing rod and then fail your water bucket MLG you cannot say that they killed you, that was your own fault for going along with it xD So many deaths that episode. I can barely believe that at the end the only ones still green are Grian and Scar, of all people. Even though Scar stole the enchanting table! Etho and Joel even went after the pandas, and after they killed one even Grian told Scar to tell them where it is, while Scar, while talking about how scary Etho is, tells them to recover his diamond horse armor for him first.
Grian and Scar make a sky base protected by dripstones – loved the awkward silence after Tango asked if the pillar is made out of wood xD And Jimmy, Tango, and Grian being so shocked when Scar jumps down after Etho and Joel start burning the pandas, and then so impressed when Scar clutched. Grian's boat escape was also very nice.
Scar telling himself that he can definitely go to the Deep Dark, against Grian's rule, after he saw Grian being reckless and letting himself be flung into the air ^^ And telling BDubs to threaten or even kill him when Scar gets tempted to steal the enchanter. After he gets the achievement he immediately tells Grian ("G") in chat that he's being super safe and BDubs is with him. Of course he steals the enchanter after all xD BDubs not doing a great job protecting him from himself here. Also, as impressive as his MLG water bucket was him just telling the red names to get out of the panda reserve, and they were all so impressed by his skills that they left ^^
Episode 5: Scar giving cookies to Grian: "I made these, they're for your secret soulmate." Oooh :D
Scar's first death was unfortunate – maybe even a little Grian's fault, why tf was he digging toward the mob sounds. The second death however was definitely his fault – that trap was super obvious and it's Etho of course he can do sneaky traps ^^ And that time Grian told himself that it wasn't Scar's fault because he couldn't see, it was Grian's fault for letting him go. Silver lining, Scar's red skin looks great, love the Jellie backpack too.
Listening to "otherside" while watching the relation-ship burn down after Scott burned it, nice moment ^^
That stalactite trap on Ren worked so well! Grian didn't think it would kill Ren/forgot and/or didn't sufficiently consider it would kill BigB too, oops ^^
Jimmy, Joel, Ren, and Etho threaten to burn the pandas if Scar doesn't respond, Scar doesn't respond, and Grian in chat: "the jokes on you scar cant read" xD And then they blow up the poor pandas :( (Ren asking the Minecraft community not to hate him forever for this xD)
Episode six: Pearl wins! She kills Bdubs and Impulse for killing her dogs, then the divorce quartet are the last four alive and Martyn and Cleo turn on her and Pearl kills Cleo, and then Scott blows himself up so Pearl wins because "she deserves it more." What a conclusion to their early divorce.
The Council of the Reds was great. Everyone agreeing, on Grian's prompt, to go after the yellow lives first while Scar wants revenge for the pandas ^^ His screen shaking and "Rage!" written on the screen multiple time when Joel turns up and basically confesses, perfect.
Grian dies from a warden while trying to bring it up to the surface to cause chaos, a very Grian way to die ^^
That was fun.
Limited Life
I also really enjoy the current series, Limited Life. So many fun groups. The Bad Boys have the weirdest builds, with the bread bridge (that worked as a trap even though it was so obvious) and now the sub sandwich in the sky – not pretty but certainly memorable. I also really love the Clocker family, with Cleo being the mom of Scar and Bdubs and Etho being the absent dad. I underestimated how much of a chaos agent Etho is, what with asking Bdubs who of his new family he would betray first and then telling Scar this episode and also telling him that as his dad he wouldn't mind Scar killing his brother. Etho and Cleo are great fun together, loved their mutual understanding that obviously Etho can control Bdubs xD So that team-up is fun, but then Grian also made an alliance with Skizz, even giving him a pity totem and they can now summon each other via ender pearl stasis chamber, so it'll be interesting to see how that shakes out. These last two episodes featured many deaths, most of them collateral damage, and time is rapidly running out, adding urgency. Some great tense chase sequences in session 4, like Tango getting hunted while trying to mine a way out and they can all hear each other through proximity chat, and several of them ended with a green sacrificing some time for a teammate.
