Trident drowned are the worst, as Grian has aptly named his training buddy. My base in my main survival world is next to a river that spawns many drowned which means I've unfortunately dealt with many of them (at least it also means I managed to get a few tridents) and I have a clear strategy by now: run inside immediately, then make sure I have my shield and full armor on before I go to kill them. Without, ooh boy.
