Cupcakes

About two weeks ago I made my first cupcakes: Chocolate Birthday Cupcakes with Nutella Cloud Frosting. They were delicious and not even that difficult to make (putting the frosting on top was very messy, but I did not mind cleaning up all the chocolate that escaped from the bag at all.)

This weekend I made another batch, Chocolate Cupcakes with Raspberry Buttercream Frosting. The frosting was much too sweet even though I had reduced the amount of sugar almost by half, but they were good and looked very cute with the colourful sprinkles. And I found out that cupcakes are the perfect food for studying: one small cupcake after each major chapter is a good reward to look forward to. I have to remember that for my next exams.
Do you have any favorite cupcake recipes?

In other news, my debate partner and I placed a close 4th in our club's internal tournament, and afterwards we talked in Russian. Success!
At the moment I'm between panic phases because of the exams on Wednesday. But I'm out of cupcakes :(

These cupcakes are rather involved to make, but so very much worth it when you're done. (I skipped the homemade frosting and drizzle, and they were still to die for.)

I like coffee-and-walnut cupcakes. With coffee buttercream icing. Mmm, coffee. I can type up the recipe if you want - it's adapted from a sandwich cake recipe, so my alterations are scrawled on a page in my cake book... (Most of the alterations are ADD MORE COFFEE.)

I need a cake icon.

Yes please, I would love to have that recipe! I've never baked anything with coffee before and was surprised when I saw it in the recipe; obviously it's the secret ingredient I never knew.

Cake book! I need to make my own cake book. :)

Cupcakes surprised me: I heard about them online and then a few months ago they started showing up in bakeries, but they cost more than I'm willing to pay for small muffins with extra sugar. Self-made they are delicious, and they're good to bring to parties etc. because you don't need plates or cutlery :) I'll definitely try more cupcake recipes in the future.

Yeah, they cost a lot for that they are only small... But, since I can't bake/cook I'll have to buy them when I want one.

Ugh. The one that interested me went very well, but I don't know my grade yet. The other one I started studying for two days beforehand because I am stupid lazy and got a 3, which is below-average for me, especially since the exam questions were actually very easy.
But at least they're over! I don't have any exams next week, it's such a wonderful feeling! :)
(I have one, but I'm not nervous about it.)
