I have to check if our copy is illustrated, I'm not sure. We have two wonderful illustrated fairy tale books at home that I loved when I was a child (and today still), with several fairy tales too few people know (Jorinde and Joringel, the Goose Girl...)
Unfortunately it was fear vs. love in general, which is not really something you can debate :( 1st prop tried to say "when there's a mass panic people are more afraid than in love", which doesn't make any sense in a debate, and it only got marginally better. In the end we had something like "our society is build on the fact that we love each other more than we fear each other", since they defined love as altruism and fear as ego-centrism... Yeah. Contexts that would have worked (and what we thought they would do) was political governance, reward vs. threat e.g. in education, international relations, or philosophy/religion along the lines of "what makes people be good". But it was still fun.
