schneefink: Dracula's castle (Castlevania castle)
[personal profile] schneefink
My mom is currently doing a no-smartphone-challenge with her students, and I decided to do the light version and set myself a goal of 1.5 hours of smartphone time per day (normal phone calls don't count.) I did well the first few days but then failed the last three, and right now I'm realizing the limit means I can't use my phone to listen to streams while doing the dishes. Boo.

Other effects: I read books on my e-book-reader on my commute instead of fics on my phone. And I really wish my radio wasn't broken but it hasn't reached the necessary annoyance level yet to get it fixed.

I'm not behind on my study plan for my next exam yet! (The upcoming exam is mostly VAT so both important and relevant and hard.) We'll see how long it lasts, but I'm in week 3 and that's pretty good especially for my standards. And that's despite me being sick one weekend and having a bad cold the next.

I told myself I'd combine it with finally starting the Hades 2 1.0 playthrough I've been planning for months, and for the first two weeks I actually managed to stick to my "one run per study session" rule but, uh, not anymore. Ahem. Good news, still having a lot of fun playing Hades 2. And thanks to playing over 130 hours in Early Access I'm so much better than when I started my first playthrough.
(I started now because the plan was DD would start the week after and then we can talk about it, but she had a schedule change and still hasn't started so that didn't work out either ^^)

But since I started playing Hades 2 I mostly stopped playing Vampire Survivors - not completely, I have done a few more runs to get some of the very last unlocks/secrets, but mostly. So have the remaining notes for now, directly continuing from last time.

Tuesday, continued:
I went into space! Space 54, to be specific, with Queen Sigma, and I unlocked the Phas3r (and evolved it) and Space Dude and I got the Brave Story relic enabling Random LevelUps, which sounds fun.
Then I tried out Random Events and Random LevelUp with Sigma in Carlo Cart. It was in Endless mode too, and I didn't discover any secrets or other things so I think I missed something, but it was still fun.

Wednesday:
I tried out Space Dude in the Mad Forest, and I cleared it magnificently - but I forgot to Invert it, ahem. I also tried to "follow the trail" – the cookies, I assume? – but the screen got so busy that I lost track, boo.
Then I tried the actual Inverted Mad Forest with Boon Marrabio, a character I don't even remember unlocking – I looked it up afterwards and it turns out I unlocked him by following the cookies (pies, sorry) and then defeating a "shadowy enemy," I just hadn't noticed him through the photonstorm ^^ So it turns out I wouldn't have needed to make my way toward the skull again, but I don't think it would have made a difference: I didn't last that long.
Clearly that challenge requires a heavier calibre: Queen Sigma herself. Thanks in large parts to La Borra and Gorgeous Moon (and Tri-Bracelet etc.), she made it to minute 31 in Inverted Mad Forest (and level 100+), unlocking Bat Country. I look forward to exploring that.
Bestiary: 153/168

Thursday:
I went to Bat Country with Queen Sigma, where I picked up two relics, killed more than 100,000 enemies in one run, and finally killed enough bats to unlock the Pako Batilliar. Can't wait to try that out. I can purchase "Charm" now, idk what that is. [Found out later.] And now two characters can "evolve" at level 80 and I want to find out what that looks like.
But first I went to Inverse Gallo Tower with Queen Sigma and unlocked the Tiny Bridge level, also very intriguing. And I picked the Pako Batilliar from the Candybox I bought from the merchant to evolve it (I looked up which passive it needs) and later even found a Super Candybox, nice. I couldn't really tell how much damage Mazo Familiar did because I already had Photonstorm, but according to the stats shown afterwards it was quite a bit. I have now unlocked Bat Robbert.
I could not resist doing another run *shakes fist* I went to Tiny Bridge with Bat Robbert and barely survived with a build not very suitable for the stage (except Carrello, and I did get Photonstorm later), but did manage to get the relic there (another character to evolve, neat) and also unlocked a new Darkana.
Collection: 164/167, Unlocked: 185/203, Achievements: 185/243

Friday:
I went to Inverse Dairy Plant with Queen Sigma to show her off to L, which worked beautifully. Hail From the Future is OP, and so is Photonstorm. At some point during the chaos of Sole Solution the hands of the Directer appeared and he clapped, but I didn't read the words in time – I really want to know when and how that happens…

Saturday:
I went to Mazarella with Queen Sigma, got both relics, and apparently also got away with stealing cheese - which I didn't notice during because at that point the screen was so busy, but later saw I unlocked a bonus character, Minnah Mannarah, a werewolf who starts with the Bloody Tear whip.
I promptly went to Westwoods with her and collected the two relics there and evolved the Magi-Stones. I also figured out when the golden hands clapping appear: when I get a loot of money during the gold rush, I'm pretty sure.
I've completed the entire collection now! \o/ 169/169 – though I think the rest of the Darkana will also appear there. I have 191/203 achievements unlocked, but only 4 secrets.

Sunday:
I went with O'Sole Meeo upwards in the Bone Zone. I managed to see his evolved form Profusione D'Amore, a beautiful sun god dancing in a field of flowers; but didn't find the flowers growing there unfortunately.

Monday:
I got Mortaccio to level 80 and saw him evolve with Anima of Mortaccio, a giant skeleton clawing through the ground, and with him I made my way up through the Capella Magna and found Cosmo Pavone the magic bird on the fiery balcony. Yes I looked up the secrets!, I was definitely not going to bother otherwise.
I also unlocked Seal II but can't afford to buy all stages yet.
I went to the Inverse Inlaid Library first with Yatta Cavallo to see their evolved form, but didn't make it far. Then I went back with Queen Sigma, killed the Trickster Death at the piano and fought and recruited Avatar Inferna, very cool. (Then Queen Sigma was killed by the White Hand iirc six times in a row because I had several revives and could not choose to quit earlier, brutal.) Then with them I went down the Gallo Tower, evolved the Flames of Musspell, and I did eventually find and defeat Leda, but I only found out when I got the "Stage Completed" message because the screen was so busy I never actually saw her. Then with Cosmo Pavone I went upwards in the Bone Zone and found the flower ring, unlocking Gains Boros.

Tuesday:
I unlocked another secret, this time with Leda: I walked off the edge of the world in Green Acres. That looked pretty cool. It unlocked MissingN, which also looks pretty cool, but I unfortunately can't afford to unlock them as playable yet, boo.

Saturday:
I decided to finally kill the Red Reaper. I went to the Inlaid Library with Queen Sigma, got the Crimson Shroud and Infinite Corridor, and by the time the Reaper appeared the screen was so full (Seraphic Cry, Vicious Hunger etc. etc.) that I didn't even see him die. (I also finally remembered to turn off Limit Break to get more gold instead.)

Sunday:
I unlocked two more Darkana (with Space-Dude and She-Moon Eeta), then went to Bat Country with Queen Sigma to collect the rings there and that unlocked Bats. On that run I also finally made enough money to get MissingN.

Monday:
I went to Il Molise with O'Sole Meeo, healed the plants and unlocked Peppino. Then I went to the Moongolow with Gains Boros, ran away with all available upgrades and unlocked Trousers. And then I survived the Boss Rash with Porta Ladonna using only Lightning Ring/Thunder Loop and unlocked Gyorunton. Secrets: 14/22.

Saturday:
I finally evolved Yatta Cavallo to Yatta Daikarin, which looks like a big space creature, cool. It was awkward to realize mid-run that I'd banned Cherry Bomb but it still worked out and I even defeated Scorej-Oni to then join my party.

Things I definitely still want to do: see the evolved form of Bianca Ramba and get at least one more level of seals. And then perhaps eventually unlocking all secret characters and playing the adventures? And maybe the DLCs after, we'll see. I took a look at videos for the Vampire Crawlers demo but that doesn't interest me yet.
There's plenty of other games I want to play before, too. VS is a very good in-between game though and I'm pretty sure I'll come back to it eventually.

I should stop procrastinating and do the dishes.
