I'm procrastinating, again! I thought to myself I could at least procrastinate by reccing stuff to help other people procrastinate too, because I'm a very ~~mean~~ helpful person.

Thanks to

frith_in_thorns I discovered Nimona, an adorable and funny webcomic about a shapeshifting bloodthirsty sidekick of an evil supervillain. Uh... I can't guarantee that it makes sense in context, but I'm enjoying it very much. It's not very long yet, so it doesn't take a long time to catch up.

evansentranced is finally posting their Harry Potter stories on the AO3, yay! Magical Relations, in which Dudley also receives a Hogwarts letter, is more regularly updated on ff.net and currently in the fifth year. The Library of Elvish Lore has a fantastically cracky concept: Harry gets fixated on the idea that he is a forest elf. And she does really cool things with it! If you enjoy the stories as much as I do, leave her a comment, because apparently HP stories get much more feedback on ff.net but I want more of them on the AO3 so there need to be incentives :)

I haven't even seen the Social Network, but

rageprufrock wrote a great fic that I enjoyed nevertheless: Disentanglement. It's a story of someone who's been down building his way up again, and it's full of competence porn and has a wonderfully satisfying and inspirational ending. It also has many good OCs.

I recently saw Skyfall and now I'm following fic recs from Pinboard, but the "standard" 007/Q isn't what I'm looking for. (What I would like most is a specific kind of "female Q"/Moneypenny, shippy or gen, for Reasons.) Nevertheless here are some stories I enjoyed:

so you were never a saint, by

paperclipbitch. 12k, Q gen, about Q and MI6 and much better than I could most likely make it sound. I enjoy competent!Q and other competent people and these people interacting in high-stress environments and the way they are written here.
(he's) so much more like spiderman than you will ever, ever be plays in the same 'verse as far as I can see. It's about Q-branch and a lot of fun. The author calls it cracky, but I suppose coming from SGA fandom my definition of that term is slightly different.

hapakitsune. 5k, Q/M pre-slash, appearances by the rest of MI6, Q-centric. You might notice a pattern here.

And on a rec from ff_a I read a Supernatural fic, The Amazing Incredible Adventures of Freakboy and Dykegirl, 87k. Told from the POV of a lesbian bounty hunter who teams up with Dean to have amazing adventures. I particularly liked the part with the dinosaurs. I really liked Kim Watson, the whole story, and have I mentioned the dinosaurs?

Probably obvious from this list: I love competence porn.

Hockey RPF and Gundam Wing recs each deserve a separate post. I noticed that I have a lot of good fic from various fandoms in my bookmarks (and by "my bookmarks" I mean "my 22 page Word document", why) that I could rec if anyone is interested or if I want to not do my homework again.
