1st drafts just need to exist

I wrote a story! The first one since Next Time Bring Candles, Food for last year's SGA santa, it's been a while. But the prompts I got in the Hockey RPF holiday fic exchange inspired me and then I wrote almost 5k in ten days. I liked the method, too: first I wrote over 2000 words of brainstorming, then I organized them and added more notes with snippets of dialogue and whatever I felt like, and then I only had to fill in the rest. It probably helped that I was procrastinating on other things, but still.
Now I should leave it alone for three days and then look at it with fresh eyes, but it's hard because I'm so happy I wrote something that I want to finish right now. And even when I'm finished it won't go public until January.
But I wrote a story! I just wanted to mention that :)
