Fuck this fucking game

schneefinkI just watched the Pens-Blue Jackets game and I'm a bit emotional.
Look, I don't want to blame the refs, but WHAT THE FUCK was that. I'm already used to Sid getting interfered with and dragged down all the fucking time without anything being called, but this was worse than I expected. That fourth goal should not have counted, the play should have been dead and also Pouliot was knocked into Flower, wtf. The Blue Jackets are apparently a fucking dirty team, even worse than in last playoffs: Jack Johnson punched Hornqvist in the face after a whistle and only got two minutes, Foligno crashed Hornqvist into the goal and then attacked him after the whistle and got nothing. Savard and Dubinsky had so many dirty plays against Sid. Foligno's slewfoot on Cole was terrible. But Downie gets penalties for everything he does. Fuck the refs, and fuck the Blue Jackets.
That said, Perron and Pouliot had terrible games, wow. This one is absolutely not on Flower, and Sid was trying so hard. Didn't help that HCMJ kept switching up his linemates - why?! He even played Bennett with Sid, and I like Bennett but he didn't look good at all, definitely not good enough to play with Sid. Sid and Hornqvist and Cole and Flower looked good, a few flashes from the others, that's not enough. So do you play Geno tomorrow, even though he's still slightly hurt, in the hopes of getting a point - in an afternoon game, against the Flyers! - or do you let him rest and basically accept the loss, if they continue playing like this? Dammit, I hope someone shouted at them. They can still miss the playoffs, and if they continue playing like this...
What I want to see more often in fic: Players being mad at their teammates for playing badly. Usually all I see is self-reproach and comfort, but the games are so emotional, no way they're always rational and forgiving towards each other. If I were Sid I'd be angry all the damn time, at the dirty players on opposing teams and the refs for letting so much slide and the teammates who don't give enough effort and the coaches when they send him out with new linemates again and the media who constantly find ways to complain about him...
I should go find comfort fic to read, but odds are good I'll come back to reading about the loss and get angry again.

One of those they play against each other; the other three the Sens play against Toronto, the Rangers, and the Flyers, and the Pens play against the Flyers, the Isles, and the Sabres. The Bruins and Red Wings have the same amount of points as the Pens, and the Bruins have one more game played. Okay, yeah, it's not quite as bad as I thought it might be, but it still sucks A LOT.
What a horrible time for Tanger to get a concussion. Fuck Shane Doan, it might not have been an illegal hit but it was unnecessary and too hard.
