Sheet lightning
Jul. 24th, 2009 07:45 pm...what a nice word. In German it´s "shining weather", but it actually comes from "dancing weather", or so wikipedia says.
So, when I came home yesterday evening I saw sheet lightning. Not only flashes illuminating the giant dark banks of clouds, but the bolts themselves, zigzagging across the sky. No thunder, no rain, very little wind, only lightning. It looked magnificent.
Then I came home and five minutes later the storm started, including hail, and our garden is partly ruined. So sad I didn´t have a camera with me.
