So... I wrote something. Really. And nobody was more surprised by this than I was.
But it´s all [livejournal.com profile] lavvyan´s fault. (And I finally figured out the linking thing! Yay!) Because nearly a month ago she posted a short fic:Lord of the Sea that is, like most of her stories, brilliant, but utter crack. (Well, not all of her stories. But many of them. I mean the "crack" thing; ketchup and peas?)
And then I kind of started thinking about it and kind of accidentally wrote a comment snippet: here: Collateral Damage . And she liked it. And other people liked it too. Which made me feel all warm and glowy inside.
And I thought that that´s it, but no, other people left comments. Funny comments. And I... left more comments. Hopefully, hopefully lavvyan will write the next parts (she promised!) soon, so I can... well... maybe not stop thinking about it... but hopefully I´ll finally know how the Jaffa are called because avoiding the names gets increasingly difficult.

I'm going to check your journal every few days to see if you've posted more fic. Just letting you know you're being "stalked", because this entry should have at least one comment.

More is being written. And that´s almost entirely your fault: you posted that questionnaire. But it takes a veeery long time, because this time the fic wants to be longer. Much longer. These nnoying characters insist on proper descriptions and everything.
(Actually, I´d be very grateful for a beta reader since 1) English isn´t my native language 2) I need some incentive to write faster. Would you be willing?)

I would be honored to assist you. I am a native English speaker, and I pretty much always had a book with me from 2nd to 12th grade, so I appreciate good spelling and grammar. :)

My email is my lj username at gmail.com, if you want to communicate that way.

Great! As I said, you might have to wait a while until it´s finished (unless you´re willing to read each chapter separately (of three in total), but personally I hate abrupt endings...), but I certainly feel better now that I know that someone will correct it.
I was the same with books - which didn´t always help me with my punctuation and spelling, however, since "they" changed the spelling rules. Unfair, if you ask me.
Whichever way of communicating you prefer, I don´t mind :-)

Well, seeing as how there's an abrupt ending now, I don't think looking at it in chunks would make things worse. Whatever method's convenient/preferable to you.
