And that's a wrap! Of the 24 stories, a quarter are SGA. Apart from Stargate, only three fandoms had two fics: Hockey RPF, Star Wars, and Harry Potter. Overall, including crossovers, the list includes 19 fandoms (plus an additional 6 if I count all those from day 3).

I really enjoyed making this calendar, I think I might do something similar to this again. I often think to myself that I should do more recs and never get around to it. This format was easier because a) it was one per day and because of the format I never felt like one rec only didn't warrant a post, b) it was for DD and I knew she would check out the stories, so I didn't put pressure on myself to make the "why I like it" perfect or detailed, and c) I always got feedback from DD about the stories and we talked about them afterwards, which made it even more fun. It always makes me happy to hear that people enjoyed what I recced, so thanks for the comments! Which stories were your favorites?

I liked this format a lot, and I could see myself doing something like this, too. Well, apart form having someone to do it for.

But I only (re)read Day 22, because the other fics are for canons I'm not familiar with, and except for the odd crossover I don't read HP fics anymore. It was a lot of fun to see which theme/trope was recced every day, though. *g*

I've become so used to reading fics in fandoms I don't know that I forget other people don't do that ^^ Glad you still enjoyed it :)

And go for it! More recs are always good. I thought that next time maybe I could ask people from my flist to submit a prompt each (with DNWs and maybe fandom preferences).

I admire (and envy) people who can do that! It only worked for me once (or twice), when someone in my dwircle posted about the fandom/characters so often that I felt like I knew them, too. I need to be familiar with the canon and care about the characters before I can dive into fanfic.

I got the tropes from DD: I got the idea of making a rec advent calendar for her and told her to give me a list of her 24 favorite tropes. The order was mostly random, i.e. whichever I already had a good idea for. I always love getting recs so I'd be excited if you do something similar :)
